Hi Andy,
Coming together very nicely - yes, the interior takes a lot of time, but it’s worth it in the end (and I’m learning lots too - I never knew about the mirror on the passenger sun visor)!
By the way, I’m surprised your tailgate springs were plated in the first place, as mine were covered in carpet to minimize any ringing noise when under some tension - hope they’ve done the same to yours).
Great progress!
Dino

Getting better with each set of pictures. Will you (and the car) be at the JOC International?

Thank you Dino,
Initially we sent all the nuts, bolts and other fixings away for Zinc plating together with the tailgate springs. we hung the tailgate complete with the recently Zinc coated springs and their carpet shrouds only to find that two had fractured causing some damage to the newly trimmed boot panel. I then did some research and discovered that the Zinc coating process causes the metal to become brittle so i sourced four replacements from Rejen and painted them in cold Zinc paint before refitting with the carpet shrouds, lesson learnt again at cost of time, effort and money
From factory the passenger sun visor had a small rectangular bevel edged mirror as per my post on the Interceptor Technical page https://www.joc.org.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=27540" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; , after some research i found a UK firm prepared to re-silver them and also remanufacture to the original design, i subsequently introduced Jason at Rejen to them as i didn't want to be any further involved going forward

Thanks so much for taking the time and effort to document your amazing restoration. I have found your pictures a great source of reference for my own rebuild...

Thank you for your kind words and i am flattered that you have used my posts for referencing. It has been a comulative effort of a superb restoration team, helpful and constructive advice from suppliers, this forum and Jensen minded people, some of whom i hope to meet at the forthcoming JOC International weekend and later on the October Swiss tripKbradley wrote:Thanks so much for taking the time and effort to document your amazing restoration. Looking superb Andy, a lot has been done since I saw the car and im looking forwa d to seeing the finished car at the international.
I can tell you from experiance that the last 10% of the restoration seems to take the longest but your patience over the course of this long restoration will be worth the final outcome.

Thanks Dave, i'm virtually there every day now like an expectant father, the Radiomobile 108SR 8 track conversion by Adrian James is very impressive it gives me bluetooth connectivity plus the ability to plug in my Ipod via a discreet socket they have located in the central glovebox whilst still retaining the ability to play 8 track cartidges, this together with new speakers and the extra sound insulation makes the cockpit an even more pleasant place to be. Having said that i will be spoilt for choice, V8 soundtrack Vs in car HiFi?DPP wrote:Looking superb Andy, a lot has been done since I saw the car and im looking forwa d to seeing the finished car at the international.

The team are currently working long days to get the car ready for the JOC International. The interior is now complete, carpets, Bradex, front reats, sill finishers and door cards fitted, boot complete following new carpet and bonnet Hardura insulation glued in place, with the left over carpet my trimmer has made a set of overmats for the front and rear. There are still numerous small jobs to finish but the end is definetly in sight

Amazing work as usual Andy, looking forward to seeing the car at the International.
Was that centre console insert from factory? It goes so well with the tan(?) interior.
