Set of correct replacement rear leaf springs fitted after wrapping with Denso tape, whilst still sitting high there is now some flex in them and we are optimistic they will settle with time and as the resto nears completion. The next job is to fit the s/s exhaust system

With the first set of springs supplied we had to use 225kg of water ballast in the boot to get the shackle pins in place, this replacement set went in without the need for ballast. i will have to recruit some overweight friends to sit in the boot until they settle.

A few issues when fitting the Appleyards supplied S/S 21/2 inch exhaust system to their headers today, not quite plug and play. Various sections had to be cut and tigged to make it fit properly. I haven't included images of all the cuts and welds that had to be made, there were several for each side. Immediately below is the finished work awaiting bolting together. Thank goodness for the skill set of the technician.

This exhaust system has faught us all the way. The tailpipe bracket supplied with the system would not work so a new one was fabricated out of S/S

This is going to be one hell of a car when it’s finished, the work that’s been done is fantastic.

I bet you’re getting excited?

Wow- this could be the finest concour restoration on an Interceptor ever & I inc the factory- utter utter perfection.
If my S4 could find itself having this quality work!!

Really, hat is well off to you & your workforce, impressive & wonderful- I even love the colour!!
Where did the brake res pipes (hoses) come from?? I have had them from the usual suspects, however to my horror they sweated brake fluid onto a fully refurbed servo

"Quality is remembered, long after the price is forgotten" I believe a mr Royce said that, & that will deffo apply to this sublime example!!

Thanks Tim SP, i have just text one of the chaps responsible suggesting he takes a look at the forum so that he can see the comments first hand and pass them on. With the exhaust now finished they are now looking to complete the work on the underside working from the back to the front, then into the engine bay for ignition leads etc and towards start up. i have asked about the brake pipes and will get back to you

Knowing the car well I will say the quality of restoration is top notch and I recon this could be one of the top Interceptors in existence.
All it needs is a few months in the Cornish lanes and it’ll look like mine
The SPs turn next year.
SP 131/4980.
Back soon.

Holy Cow - I know many people who have fitted a stainless system, but he has really gone all out. The brackets are stainless, the clamps, everything!

Seriously impressive detail.

An SP to that standard, I'll likley have a baby!! The new Ellanor!!
The devil is in detail, which is usually either missed or compromised due to cost etc- not here its clear.
Had I the funds I would not hesitate a nano second to send my fleet down- As said had there been a factory, I doubt they could better standard, nor would they be anything like as good new.
Indeed this reminds me of 'Works service' AM restoration, & that dear boy is the very highest compliment one could offer!!

Heads up on the brake hose be great cheers.
