You can probably see why so many Jensens have such poor feedback/warranty claims in paperwork that you get from robeys, at the factory i doubt they got the attention to deatil yours has hence lots of come backs,,Toby wrote:The car has been with Finches over winter having its fourth recon steering rack fitted, full service and fixing some minor snagging. This has been done in slow time and i should have it back in the next few weeks. I'm glad i wasn't approached to display at the NEC or the London Classic car show as it wouldn't have been available. I'm looking forward to using it this year, Grandparent duties permitting and we are booked in for the JOC Spring WeekendGrant wrote:Are you enjoying the car Andy?.. Is it what you wanted it to be?.. I was at a funeral and discovered my long lost family was in fact a full of Jensen fanatics. 4 new Jensen Interceptors were owned between them. 1xMk1, 3xMk2. They said what fantastic cars they are compared to others they owned, how daft it was to sell them. They never had serious problems with any of them. So the power steering leaks and you get it fixed at the next service under warranty. That wouldn't put a car enthusiast off in the 70s.
They did complain that the price of the cars new just went up and up as they became more popular. We had a new BL car that needed towing 4 times in the first year. Those steering racks were clearly not up to scratch. I was warned by Jensen Motors NZ that there are rack rebuilders in the UK shipping racks that have never been tested under pressure and that all racks need testing properly after rebuilding.

I have read a few chassis files. They have all been Mk1 FF ones. Interesting stuff.

Part of being a grandparent is education. So you HAVE to use the car with the grandchildren. They will love itToby wrote: I'm looking forward to using it this year, Grandparent duties permitting and we are booked in for the JOC Spring Weekend

"Toby" posed with the "Overall Interceptor Cup" awarded at the June 2018 JOC International Concours after coming a close second to Ian Proudfoot's 541S. Family commitments prevent me from attending this years event but best of luck to all those taking part.
