My New Interceptor - '72 Mk 111, 133-5597

Post by RockyUSA »

Just got her a few days ago - went on my first drive today.

~59K miles, I am the 4th owner....

It was originally Tangerine, but was repainted silver in ~2002. Black interior.

I am having a hard time getting "great" pictures (I've got lots of "good" ones), but here's a shot that came out pretty nice.

More to follow....

Thanks, Guys!

Here's another cool bit of history on my car... The original window decal and pricing.

$14,305 USD

That was a lot, back then.

Those broadcast sheets are quite rare so you are lucky to have it. Better change the VIN on your postings.

Thanks, Richard -

Fixed it....

Anyway, not to brag, but in Arizona, vehicle registration fees are based on the depreciated value from the original list price.

I got real copper license plates (historical vehicle), and a 5 year registration for USD $124.35....

Registration of classic cars in Arizona is the greatest deal in the world.

Plus... If you are a classic car, you don't have to have the car smog tested!

Whoo Hoo!

I just hope I put the right VIN on the application!

Did you know that I am a dyslexic pilot?

"Dog" is my co-pilot!

Rocky

OBTW: One of the reasons I like both the "Pants-Tearer" and my Interceptor is the fact that they are the original hybrids.... "Italian Style with Detroit Muscle"

Not sure if you guys have heard that before, but the Pantera guys say it all the time!

Equally applicable!

Hi Rocky,

I was in Tucson in 2012 and loved it - now I know another reason to love it.....$125 for 5 year rego !!!!

In Australia, well where I live in New South Wales (NSW), the annual fee for rego is about $500 plus compulsory third party insurance for $480, then theft/fire insurance if you want it for about $400, and if you want a nice number plate another $100.......and they don't even buy you dinner!

Ah well, at least it's a nice car.

Sorted the coil positioning (will be refinishing my air cleaner) and worked my kick-down linkage. Getting better 2-3 shifting, but still no 2->3 kick-down when I stramp on it....
