Thanks cannonball,
It would be great to see some photos of the green Coupe. I would love to see some before and after, especially of the roof-line and back window.

So I had all the glass pre-3M crystalline tint before installation. However the smaller Coupe pieces needed to be installed, glazed then crystalline.
I chose the 10% which is virtually clear. We have it in our other cars. I really can’t speak well enough about the stuff. Works absolutely amazing. 99% UV blockage. and massive heat reduction.

Rear Window
Originally it was planned to install the rear window by urethane it in place and then having some custom trim installed over it. However I was tinkering around with an extra front windshield rubber and realized although two large it appeared to fit perfectly. After a few phone calls and some friends came over we did a test fit by cutting it down to size then gluing the seams together. After confirming the install worked. I reached out to Craig from Martin Roby who was able to get the manufacture to make me a single piece to the new specifications.

We spent a good day grinding and refining the fit. This is a slow process. The end result was a really nice fit.

The new rubber
Got the new piece from Craig, fits perfect and installed as expected.

The plan now is to take trim from the front windshield which I have extras of and cutting them down to fit. The nice part about all of this is that the front and back will match.

That is a great result,, now as you well know the front chrome windshield finisher is pushed in to the rubber then you offer the whole deal in to the car and fit it as a unit,,, now when you have custom made the rear chrome finisher from a front item,, will you remove the rear glass and fit as per the front ??????????

That’s the plan right now. The short version was we spent the day test fitting everything. In reality we had it in and out multiple times using the test rubber. The glass needed some fine-tuning along with the body opening. This was all done so that it can be carefully removed without destroying the rubber. And yet still have a good snug fit.

Thanks

Thanks for the invite. I think yours is the last and largest get together of Jensen’s in America. Being where in California that would be quite a drive. however you never know.

Thank you,

Quite the jigsaw puzzle. Starting with the two headliner sections.

After reinstalling the back window. This was one of the more complicated and time-consuming parts of the build. Fitting all of the pillar and headpieces, so they terminate properly to the edge of the chrome window frames and other areas. Also laying out, drilling and tapping all of the fasteners.

So I’ve had the car on the road for about a month now. And have been rigorously sorting through everything from mechanical, electrical and everything in between. With just a few small projects left. This engine really didn’t like the fitech throttle-body, so I switched it out to the new Holly sniper. Can’t say enough about it. Runs absolutely fabulous. Also the 518 transmission mod with overdrive is much better than the gear vendor unit I put on my wife’s car.

I will try to get my act together and finish posting the rest of The build.
