Hi Mark, great job with the gear vendor overdrive. I've bought it as well . Now I'm going to install it. You describe building a stiff poly replacement mount. What do you mean with it? Can I find it on your pictures?
The overdrive unit himself has got a mounting bracket?

Kind regards, Florian

Butting in...
The polymount is a direct replacement for the factory mount. Schumaker Creative Services has them as well as a few other vendors. Until I replaced my rubber mount with the poly unit I would get a slight driveline vibration after hard cornering/hard acceleration. It would go away quickly, but it turned out to be squirm in the transmission mount due to the extra long trans/GVO system and the super short driveshaft. The GVO has been doing hard time under 9272 for about 45K miles without a hiccup. One of the best things Ive done to her other than EFI :D !

Hello florin,

BKbridges covered your question about the mounts. All you need is a replacement torqueflight 727 mounting bracket made out of polyurethane. My wife's car has the tall square type, there is the other round type. See pictures below.

Thank you,

Mark I

Attention: Mark...

I am about to install a FiTech unit in my Int. III...I liked your banjo fitting and would like to find one like it....however, I think you had a special tank made and I wonder if the bung threads are the same at the original...if so, can you tell me where to find that fitting, part numbers etc.???

Thank you,
Frank

Hello,
I had to take a hiatus on a giant project that took just a good year. So I am back at it again. We’ve been working on the Coupe for some months now. A lot has been happening so I’ll start with the front. It took three tries to get this bumper fitted and chromed properly.

This is the second time the rear bumper was not correct. The first time the chrome shop destroyed the front bumper which needed to be re-done several times on my wife’s car and now the Coupe. Not sure if you can really tell from the pictures but when they were doing the bodywork we fitted the rear lenses before paint. This actually made a big difference in how they sit on the car.

Thanks Guys,

Octane Lighting 5-3/4 H5006 H5001 Amber LED Angel Eye Halo Turn Signal Halogen H4 Bulb Headlight. They were inexpensive, so I thought I’d order them and see how they looked. They are both turning signals and running lights.

Probably my least favorite thing to do is reinstalling all of the door frames, hardware, seals and stuff. Gotten pretty good at it, however it still takes a lot of time. After staring at the car for over a week I finally dove back in.

Doug taught me the trick of attaching bolts to the backside and spot welding them in place. So that the window motor is removable from the front by simply unbolting it. The picture of the back is before I tack welded them in permanently.

One of the things I did on the Coupe was to tap the screw holes for all of the trim and use stainless machine screws.

After dry fitting a piece of outer weather stripping and not liking the way it looked, Craig at Martin Roby suggested running the seal all the way. Definitely looks fantastic.
