Hello,
I picked up a nice Mk3 Interceptor a few months back that had been neglected for a few years and needed paint work and a dent fixed in the rear. Currently in the process of tearing it down to send out for paint work.
Barn find interceptors
Re: Barn find interceptors
While working on preping the Interceptor for paint, I received a call about a pair of interceptors that had been sitting in a barn for quite a while. I decided to go have a look and found a pair of late Mk3 cars along with several other abandoned old British cars. It appears the cars have been off the road for at least 24 years.
There was also a nice TR6, along with a few other cars

Re: Barn find interceptors
A deal was made on the pair of interceptors and the TR6. And all were towed out. The silver car has suffered an engine fire at some point, but the chassis appears to be rather solid. The blue car is complete, however it is completely rotten.

Re: Barn find interceptors
For the barn finds - i should be able to make one complete car between the 2 of them. The blue one is severely rotten underneath, beyond what any sane person would tackle for a restoration. The silver one despite suffering from an engine fire at some point appears to be a fairly solid car. I will get the silver one up on a lift shortly and do a proper assessment.
Does anyone have a copy of the chassis data book that could provide me details of the originality of these barn finds?

Re: Barn find interceptors
Great score!!! I really like the unmolested, original late model USA TR6. That's a good one to grab the way prices are going. I've had my TR6 since '85. I hope you get it running for the summer......they are a blast to drive about in. Check to make sure the differential mounts aren't broken, particularly the RS ones. Usual character flaw. Robert Bentley Books has the best TR6 shop manual,a copy of the factory one I believe. Enjoy the wrenching!
