Well done for taking her on - should be a stunner in a few years. Will you keep the neat front spoiler?
What colour code do you think?
Halfords rattle-can black - for the bumpers, anyway!

Hi
Keeping the spoiler, it seems pretty well fitted. The bumpers are scrap. That black is thick underseal....shocking. Looking for new bumpers, grille badge and interior cowls at present. I will post some pics once new bumpers are sourced. I'm sure they will improve the look no end!

I am a big fan of old English white.

Your car was white when it came out of the factory so you would be returning it to factory spec.

If you are going for new bumpers you could try sourcing MK2 ones, in my opinion they look the best.

I was wondering why she had mk1 rear lights and the mk1 style rear seats. How can i get hold of more history on the car. A few people have told me she was White but don't know where the info comes from. I think mkII bumpers are the way to go also.

Call Martin Robey 024 7638 6903. They have the original factory records for Jensen cars. For a small fee they will send you photo copies of them.

I looked your chassis number up in Richard Calvers Chassis data book, that gave me the original colour. This book is available from the JOC regalia website. It's a bit like a phone book for Jensens.

I think you can also apply to the DVLA for the previous owners addresses. You have to tell them that it's for researching your classic cars history has they don't normally send the details out.

It all depends how deep you want to research the history.

Best off luck with your new Interceptor.

Why can't you leave it the same colour and just improve the crome work, it's a nice colour, try a little T cut and polish first..

I won't be doing any paintwork until next year now. May keep it the same colour as the engine bay and shuts are all yellow at present. Just want her MOT'd to get some use this year and next summer. I think this colour is Positano Yellow!! Any clues anyone?

Well, it's definitely not Positano! That was a vibrant strong yellow - now almost extinct for Interceptors:

Yours is more a Primrose?

Wonder if your yellow is same as the one Rejen sold earlier?: http://www.jensenparts.co.uk/jensen-sal ... -mkiii.php" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; looks "primrose" too. You could ask Jason what colour that was, he is a very knowledgeable chap.

And this one is described as Primrose: http://ourclassiccars.co.uk/jensen-interceptor-ii/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Evening all!
I would agree, not Positano! However, it looks spot on like the Primrose as you suggest in the photos. Ordered the new Stainless bumpers today......ouch! Like having open wallet surgery!

It will be interesting to get feedback on your stainless bumpers (Harrington?).

I believe that the positioning of the (metric) bolts etc. is not always of the same quality as the main bumpers, but do bear in mind that the profile of the bumper sometimes seems wildly inaccurate until tightening the fittings drags them into the correct shape.

Yes, they are coming from Harrington. Thanks for the heads-up on the possible fit issue. Not due for a few weeks yet but will post pictures when fitted.
