Thanks Slotcarone.

The colour is a VW/Audi sage and looks appropriate. I thought about tangerine but lost my nerve.

Wheels are a replica Rostyle in 17x7 so fill the arches nicely. The back is sitting high as I have no fuel in the tank, no spare wheel and no rear glass. Hopefully it settles lower, but I can always adjust the coilovers for height.

Looks lovely in dark grey - classy!

And don’t worry if the car sits too high - have patience and it will settle (or do as my spring manufacturers “give it some stick”, and it did lower another 1/2 inch!

What a stunner!!!
Really very very lovely & well done.

The ride height looks great, the rule was 3 fingers above the tyre to arch, I think it sits perfect, I'd be chuffed!
Fantastic Mk11.

So Superheat -

You have your own factory? Super!

What do you make - awesome Jensen Interceptors with 17" Rostyles? Very cool!

... and your car looks very sharp!

Thanks for the nice comments.

Colin, I would be very happy to take you for a tour of Christchurch (and surrounds) next time you are over. We have a few nice country roads with pubs and cafe's scattered around.

Rocky, my business is manufacturing hot water cylinders so I have a number of excellent welders who can help with special projects. The brand is Superheat so I tend to use it for other purposes. The factory is 2,200m2 so perhaps I should be making more Jensens.

Tim, the ride height was quite easy to set up with coilovers in the rear. 17" Rostyles give the impression of filling the wheel arch more than the original 15". I am really happy with the alloy Rostyles as I wanted to keep the Mk2 look rather than the Mk3 GKN style.

So after getting the vehicle warranted (MOT) and registered I decided to have a legal drive and live life in the fast lane. Unfortunately the reconditioned transmission "shat" itself and would only travel in reverse.

So until it is fixed, back to the slow lane...

i have not posted for a while. The gearbox was relatively easy to fix, it only cost $$$.

A Holley Sniper EFI and distributor has been fitted controlling fuel and timing. There are some real positives in that it always starts on the button, hot / cold or whatever. It idles at 800rpm, and I can adjust the idle with the controller. I have done about 700 miles in the last few months and the vehicle drives very nicely.

Tuning is via a laptop. There are 31x31 tables for fuel and timing so easy to make modifications.

I have an overdrive that makes for quieter and hopefully a more fuel efficient travel. It can be used as a gear splitter with the overdrive operating in 1st, 2nd and top gears. This shows the revs and speed with the overdrive off.
Engine revs at 62mph overdrive off.jpg

And the revs drop by 400 rpm at 62mph (our speed limit is 100kph).

So all in all very happy with progress. You may have seen from the glare on the dials that the sun was shining so coming into summer I should get the AC operational.

Here are some photographs of HW 5397 at a recent car show.

As there was only one Jensen, I had prime position in the Ferrari row.

Beautiful Jensen. The wheels are just right.
What size tires are those? I have a set of 17" GKN copies, but haven't bought the tires for them yet.

The wheels are 17x7 and from memory the tyres are 225 55r17. I will check to confirm but they are pretty much the same rolling diameter as the original specification and the GPS speed matches the speedo.

I have checked the tyres Twright55, and confirm that they are 225 55r17. Mine are Dunlops and the Jensen has a very "planted" feel with this tyre/wheel combination.

Coilovers at the rear and adjustable Spax shocks at the front help with the ride, unfortunately the handling is compromised by the front sway bar which gives me too much lean when cornering fast (especially on fast roundabouts).
