SO NOW GIVE ME YOUR STEERING WHEEL!!!Eddie wrote: Dunc I think I am coming around to the black stone chip engine bay. I hear where you are coming from and makes sense to go back to original

Re: CEA 1J Earls Court Motorshow Interceptor
Glad all went ok Eddie, it's not nice having all that weight over the car. I may have found all my engine parts in the UK at about 15% more than the US but only £11 postage, will let you know if it works out.
I will go down the route of stone chip and replace my Hydura as most of mine is original and now quite nasty. Off to NEC on Saturday, so will shop around for the correct material. If I find what I want, I'll let you know and get contact details, so you can get yours too, unless you beat me to it then I would expect you to do the same. The Hydura on my bulkhead shows signs of it being silvered, so will look for that too, if not I'll put the Hydura over a layer of the sticky aluminium stuff.
I've just realised that 2 (40%) of the cars that were on the JOC stand last year, are now engine less.

Eddie, I think you should go back to original in the engine bay as well. This is the ideal time to restore to standard (maybe not the yellow) also i’d be tempted to strip the engine and give it a freshen up.
Good luck.

But being a 1970 car it’s better in black and white because the world was mostly black and white back then

It's a beautiful car, I was surprised you sold it Mark ... especially with the amount of money everyone keeps saying you've got ... Do you still hide in that Tea Cosy and not trust anyone in the room when left on their own?Trevithick wrote:But being a 1970 car it’s better in black and white because the world was mostly black and white back then

Yep it was a very bright yellow from new until the rebuild then it turned OEW. I have a picture of it in Yellow somewhere.
As for selling it, I had to due to illness but I accidentally bought VRL instead then accidentally bought the SP.
Eddie is far better for the car than me, I learnt my lesson not to buy a historically important Jensen again.
Oh bugger!
