I’ve had a great year so far in CEA. My only regret is I haven’t been on a tour this year, but you can’t do everything.
Lots and lots of highlights this year, but my favourite moment has to be winning members choice at the International weekend.
Fantastic drive out today to Bicester heritage Sunday Scramble.
Left some October 1970 reading material on the passenger seat (Thanks to Mark Rivron) raised quite a few smiles. The snowflake generation wouldn’t be to happy with me though.
Best moment of the year Waiting patiently to be taken to Bicester Parked up behind P1800 at Bicester, not a Jensen bodied car though. Nice colour Reading material not suitable for the 21st century.

Hi Eddie, car looks great as usual, but rather than driving to Bicester, you should have been hoofing it across Switzerland to the Grimsel pass on Sunday, with us. You really need to book time off for these internationals, they are sooooooooo good.
Problem is once you've done one, its a slippery slope.
Love the (in)appropriate literature.
See you soon.

Haven’t really had the chance to do a lot over the winter/ spring this year with CEA due to a hectic work schedule.
The only real jobs have been a carb rebuild by Dave Barnett and interior trim rechromed.
Work is starting to tail off a bit coming into the summer, so I need to get out and about. Also a bloody good clean for this years concours.
It will be good to catch up with some old faces and new ones.
Bring on the summer

Re: CEA 1J Earls Court Motorshow Interceptor
After years of polishing, getting bits chromed, taking the engine out to clean it, various bits of body work done etc etc.
Finally I progressed up the concours ladder.
Maybe it was a bit down to luck at the end of the day, there could have been the likes of Toby, Paul Toothills SP or any other fantastically restored / pampered Interceptor there. But after years (since 2013) of graft I finally won the Interceptor cup.
Overall I was 5th. Since starting in concours I have won club best novice, 3rd place bronze, 1st place bronze, then gradually worked my way up the ladder when the class system went and it was an all in competition.
I know the competition is dying out which is a real shame. Not everyone wants to polish, but everyone appreciates looking at the cars in concours. Would Anton have rushed over just finishing his fabulous CV8 only days before? This has probably been the case for cars over the years. I remember Dave Pearce finishing bits on the morning when he won everything.
The competition has improved my car know end over the years. Studying the score sheets to improve on previous years.
I sincerely hope we don’t lose this competition.

Well done Eddie.
Having known CEA 1J since around 2011 and slowly watching the car get better and better I can’t think of a more deserved winner.
Although I wasn’t wasn’t at this years International I remember Eddie arriving at last years on the Sunday after a 70 mile plus drive and start cleaning. Surely this is the true spirit of concours..
Looking forward to seeing CEA 1J back in the South West soon.
Chuffed for you ..

I know we have just had the members survey and so far 195 members have said keep concours, I also know that it published in the magazine and on the Forum but, has ANYBODY actually ASKED why members don't want to enter.. So many cars turn up on Sunday, too look at those that do, maybe finding out why might help to keep it going,,Eddie wrote: I know the competition is dying out which is a real shame. I know why I don't enter and when I told a judge the reason, the reply I got was "0h well". Not what you want to hear really.
Only working half a day now.

Hi Eddie, well deserved mate, a lot of effort now recognised and a long time coming. Don't forget I'm still willing to sacrifice my MK1 and do a straight swap as suggested 5 years ago, you know you want to

Working my way through my list of winter jobs, amazing how time flys.
An intermittent fault with my rev counter has seen me on the verge of sending it off to be refurbished.
But I did come across another in perfect working order, although not the best cosmetically.
So a couple of hours spent swapping all the best bits to make one that looks good and works, has saved me a couple of quid.
Looking forward to catching up with other members this coming year

Nice one EdManbut.. I thought you were a "Black Rim Paint Removal Man".. Look at it again EddieMan.. You have left the black paint on the Rim.. and, Being a "Black Rim Paint Removal Man".. You need to remove the black paint from th rim, so in summary and conclusion Eddie.. I am starting to worry and question your integrity to carry out these small jobs as you are ageing you see,.. If I were you I would look in the mirror and ask yourself "Why is this happening".. Ok.. Then report back please.. Thank you Eddie, but in the meantime your card has been marked!!

Your correct I am a black paint removal man, but I have only done this on the smaller dials.
Another very small job this afternoon was a new wash wipe switch courtesy of the clubs concours king Anton.
I love the old packaging, why doesn’t new stuff look like this, and the description is just epic.
