Looking at his Facebook photos, I hope he can do my paint job to the same standard.

This looks good to me, a non expert, but is this a satisfactory standard?

The paint stripping really shows up in the yabba dabba pictures. No angle grinder marks or anything like a heap of scratches needing filler, good job. Could have tried dry ice but there's water content although it evaporates very quickly, good process for engine cleaning.

Did the heat process affect the leaded joints.

It did affect the leaded joints where the lead was very thin and it run out. In other places it stayed solid.
I didn't see it as a problem as it was going to be loaded again on completion of the repairs and prior to the preparation of the primer etc.

It's beginning to look a bit more like it should. Small, almost perceptible grin beginning to break out.

Just the tailgate, lead loading and minor work to do and then some primer.

On the left is a TR6, out of shot, a Porche and DB5

Been a while since the last update but it's getting there. Been filled and blocked many times than usual. Has anyone else had issues with new door skins from Robeys that are rippled and needed filling and sanding 3 or 4 times to get them flat?

Pic 2 Ready for the underseal and colour etc. Final colour will be grey/ silver.

I'm pleased with the work so far but am resisting the urge to go and see it for myself until its finished. I'm in Manchester tonight and it's only 2 hours away. Should be ready for next week and then I take it to andy for some more work.

Another step closer. Still got underseal, stonechip, laquer coats and flattening and doors, bonnet and tailgate to fit so still another week away.

It's there. Finally, it's complete and ready for collection. Anyone got a trailer near Airdrie and can collect and deliver to Appleyards?
