Proper engine. Pops up everywhere and it was only made for 2 years.

Listened to Ministry before (way before!) I knew what a Hemi was, saw them in Pittsburgh in a small club in the late 80s.

Hi Felix
The name Lord Gardener, with two 'e's, is given in the old C-V8 Register, but with no other information, just the name. As I'm sure you have found there was no Lord Gardener, spelled that way, but there was a Lord Gardiner, spelled with a middle 'i' and he probably owned your car:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gerald_Ga ... n_Gardiner" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Member 190 was W G Gardiner who owned 541/14908.
Regards
John

Re: cv8 mkIII 112/2454
In the article from 1972 it states that Axel Thorer, picture below, inherited the C-V8 in 1969 or 1970. From a friend, who was the "Press/Printing-Lord" Gardener, which may also mean a Press tycoon? Probably not Lord Gerald Gardiner, as he passed away in 1990.
It also states that the car goes 250kmh, has 370hp, a 7L engine, is brown, and has the number 862

Re: cv8 mkIII 112/2454
Hi Felix
I can't help any more, the information in the register probably came from Hartmut and he was probably given the information from Axel Thorer so unless Axel Thorer is still alive I can't go any further. You could try to find an address for Lord Gardiner's son and ask him if he remembers the car, he was born in 1956 so is old enough to remember if his father owned a Jensen, or get a list of owners from DVLA, if you can do that from Switzerland. The register also says "new log book?", which means someone had a log book in the 1970s but they thought it was a new one (and so they thought there might be earlier owners than "Lord Gardener" who is the first owner listed in the register, as we know there were, at least one), did Hartmut ever have a copy?
Regards
John

Hi John. Thanks for your reply. I have R.P.F. Smallwood Esq., 44 Kippington Rd, Sevenoaks, Kent, as the first owner, sold by Charles Follett, London. This is probably from the factory documents you sent me, I have to check. I've never come across the original log book. I've tried getting in touch with Axel Thorer, but I didn't receive an answer. I'll try again, maybe via his children. FelixJohn Staddon wrote:Hi Felix

Hi Felix
I thought I had sent you the information I have on R P F Smallwood, Reginald Percy Fuller Smallwood, Director of the Commercial Union insurance company, if not I'll send it again.

I own some of the odd Jensen
Re: cv8 mkIII 112/2454
He has a blog, where I posted a reply yesterday. There is a phone number there also, but I haven't been able to reach him. Thank you for your offer Grant. That is very kind- it says the property was last sold in 1995, so I'm not sure if any of the Smallwood family still lives there.Joerg wrote:@Felix

Thank you very much, John for the details on Reginald Smallwood. I'm amazed at what lengths you got to in your research, well done.
All you Jensen owners beware: there will be people showing up at your house, calling you on a Sunday morning in 40 or 50 years time (2057, 2067!) wanting information on a car you once owned.
