cv8 mkIII 112/2454
Re: cv8 mkIII 112/2454
Andi's removed the paint and has reinforced the ribs on the bonnet.
And the engine is back in. In the back on the left is the inside of my right front wheel. What I thought was dirt from the road turned out to be from the rusty sludge inside the engine...

Hi Felix, felixkk wrote:In the article from 1972 it states that Axel Thorer, picture below, inherited the C-V8 in 1969 or 1970. From a friend, who was the "Press/Printing-Lord" Gardener, which may also mean a Press tycoon? Probably not Lord Gerald Gardiner, as he passed away in 1990.
It also states that the car goes 250kmh, has 370hp, a 7L engine, is brown, and has the number 862
this thread is prettty old, but I should tell you I bought my first car from Axel Thorer. He lived close to Munich and was writing for the Playboy.

Hi Arne
It‘s a small world it seems! I had tried to get in touch with Axel to try to find out from who he had inherited the C-V8, but did not succeed. The 2nd owner is a bit of a mystery. I have heard it said that people buy the Playboy because the articles are excellent.

Re: cv8 mkIII 112/2454
So I saw Andi tonight, and he said that the car was back together and running and that the engine bay was looking pretty good, but did Andi have any pictures- yes, but not on his phone. And today a fellow club member paid him a visit in the garage and had a look and said it was about time that something was done... and I had meant to go by his garage sometime in the past two weeks to spend a day to do some cleaning, but I had no time and now that everything is back together it is a bit late.

Re: cv8 mkIII 112/2454
Some snapshots of the work in progress. The bonnet is back on the car and looks stunning, and the ribs being reinforced is now one worry less. Still some parts of the engine bay needing to be refinished. The Webasto has been dismantled and is ready to be redone.
The horns and other parts are now back to black, as they should be:
The engine is back in place and nice and clean
Sample of the new fabric for the Webasto

A TV report on Jensen from 1988 (I think) on the German channel VOX, featuring 112/2454 and Matthias Kollinger and Hartmut Jungnickel:

Re: cv8 mkIII 112/2454
Finally back from a lengthy workshop stay with a fresh MOT. Top job, Andi!! No more stripes, with bumpers, no dunlops, most stickers have vanished. Could it be that I‘m finally through puberty? Not really, the car has a short appearance in a film noir, being filmed saturday night.

Thanks Martin
Benjamin Guedel (an illustrator from Zurich) did a sketch of the C-V8, taken from a photo at the Lenzerheide Classic last year:

Touched on a speed bump going 5kmh on Monday. I've had enough of the cast manifolds...
