Re: 115/3484 Restoration
Hi Grant, I spoke to several Mopar V8 specialists including Dave Gilliver (thanks for the tip), but in the end decided to entrust the work to Chris Marsh, who’s doing the rest of the restoration. It was just easier to have all the work done in the same place, and at somewhere within easy reach of home. Plus Chris used to build racing V8s for the Le Mans Classic and the Indy 500, although this is his first Mopar. Best wishes, Nigel

Re: 115/3484 Restoration
I had the same situation when my MKII's 383 was being built. Joerg gave me the link to Mancini Racing and I sent that and Richard's advice to engine builder (Faxed it, he didn't do the internet). He called Mancini, got their kit, fabricated, and I haven't blown at drop of oil with 561HP and a 6500 rpm redline.

Re: 115/3484 Restoration
Hi All
The CMC guys ran the engine on the test stand today - main seal leak sorted, just a few drips from one valve cover now. Can't wait to hear what it sounds like through headers and a 2.25" stainless exhaust system from JP Exhausts (same people who made the Car SOS Mk1 Interceptor system, albeit that was a 2.5" system with cut-out valves)...
https://youtu.be/Zu3JIoa1nxM
In other news, after months of prep work, underseal has now been applied, powder-coated suspension components are being re-assembled, and I'm hoping to be able to share more visible progress in the coming weeks.
Best wishes,
Nigel

Great stuff Nige..I love seeing them RAW like this, I see you are using AVO shocks too..they really are great and the best in my opinion, I was out in mine at the weekend and always think of the AVO's as I take the bends as the really work well..crack on sport with your great work

Re: 115/3484 Restoration
New fuel tank installed (I chose the larger Mk2/Mk3 tank which has required some minor surgery to the boot floor to make it fit), as well as the refurbished power steering rack (fortunately a Pow-a-Rak not a Cam Gears). We also resolved the fresh air blower motor issue - a NOS unit from a Bedford HA van fitted almost perfectly.
Anyone know how the Selecta-a-Ride cable should be routed? There doesn't seem to be a hole in the boot floor large enough to thread the cable junction through...

Re: 115/3484 Restoration
Really great work....
Boy, it sure would have been nice to have access to the steering rack like that when I was redoing the Power steering pump/hoses!
Thanks for the pictures!

Re: 115/3484 Restoration
Out with the original Smiths interior heater blower, in with a more gutsy Toyota MR-2 unit. I know this is a frequent mod in Mk2s and Mk3s, but the Mk1 heater set up is very different and some substantial modification to the heater box was necessary as the photos below show...

Brake calipers and handbrake installed, just waiting for Classicar Automotive to finish the servo and m/c refurb then we can finish the braking system.
