Steve Hickey's Interceptor - RAP72

Post by zacmarshall »

This is Steve Hickey’s Interceptor, RAP72. RAP72 is also Steve’s user ID on the forum.

The car is a member of Steve’s family having been bought by his father in 1989, and passed on to him in 1999 when his father felt he was getting too old to drive it.

The car had a few problems when Steve first had it, Mike Billmore (our very own Wallace) has done lots of work on the car making it a joy to drive and a car that Steve is confident will get him where he is going.

Steve has been tracing the remaining mark 1 Interceptors and their history. The site he has created is now hosted by the JOC, see http://www.joc.org.uk/Interceptor_Mk_1" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

To see Steve’s page for his own car see http://www.joc.org.uk/Interceptor_Mk_1/115_3492.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
This is well worth a visit to see some of the work done on the car.

Both Steve and RAP72 will be on the JOC stand at the Classic Motor Show so do pop along to say hello. The show is open Friday to Sunday (15th to 17th November)
Discounted tickets are available for JOC members, see the latest magazine for details (due out soon).

Having checked tyres, oils and water for this weeks visit to the NEC. (That was after not seeing the car for the past 3 months) I thought I would take it around the block, after all the sun is out. Drove out of my road and noticed that everywhere I turned the car behind turned with me. So I stopped and the chap just wanted to see inside and have a chat.

There is something special about these cars :lol:

No wonder:

Seriously: the car is a great example of a Mk I and I really love the centre console.
