Morges 25th Classic British car meet

Post by hlequippe »

I attended last saturday for the first time the Classic British car meet in Morges near Lausanne.

Since my Interceptor is currently undergoing some work, I went there with my faithful Spitdore (31 years ownership) Top down all the way from Paris and unfortunately half way back top up as we have a nice british weather in switzerland)

There were a couple of Jensen being showed but I was particularly pleased to see a 541 in "flesh" for the first time as I must admit I was blown away . Congratulations to the owner.

There were a total of 3 Interceptor including a MK1 for Sale, the aforementioned 541 and a Jensen Healey

The 541 is in the Swiss club and has attended the 60th 541 Celebration in Stratford-upon-Avon. Great car, I agree. The owner bought the car in boxes of pieces and at first thought he had a C-V8. The silver Mk1 we're trying to figure out the chassis number (http://www.joc.org.uk/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=9366" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;). Don't know the blue Mk3 (thank you for the photo!). The yellow Jensen-Healey is also a club member. Freshly restored four or five years ago, a great car. And the red one belongs to Michi who's in the committee (he was in Turin with his Shaguar). Drop us a note if when you come to Switzerland. The British car meet was on our agenda last year, possibly again next year. Would be great to meet up- unfortunately I couldn't make it this year.

Thanks Felix, It was a lastt minute decision as the Triumph was without clutch or radiator on Wednesday last week, but a rush and the help of a friend pushed me into it.

Definitely a must do again next year this time with the Jensen (?)

Felix how about trying to make three day weekend out of this and see who would join in.. Might be worth getting some interest?

depending on when it was, could be worth the effort.

Sounds like an excellent idea Colin, will propose it to the Swiss club (we're long overdue with an international).

2018, Ok, excellent! Morges is I think usually on the last weekend of September, or beginning of October. I'll bring it up at the next meeting and see what the others think.
