And for those wondering what Kevin looks like:

This is what Kevin has to say about the car:

So here is my recently purchased Healey, chassis no. 10091. Let me give you some information about my history with the Jensen marque. Well to be honest, my association with the Jensen story is limited. I have been a member now for only seven months and the Regalia Secretary for a few weeks.
Let me go back further and let you in on my own motoring past. Back in the mid to late seventies, when music was music, I got my hands on my licence. A licence though, but no form of transport of my own. My mates though, all starting out in the motor trade were, like me, mad keen on rallying. Back then, no such thing as popping waste gates, thank goodness. That is how I started out as a co-driver/ navigator. The only one of a group of four or five potential world champions without a car, full time job or salary. A lot to be said for being an engineering student. It was pointed out that that gave me ideal navigator potential. A really enjoyable eight years of sitting in the left hand seat followed. My skills with a map were always in demand. I thought afterwards that this may have something to do with never being ill during an event, always a bonus for a driver. My own choice of marque veered toward a few variants of Golf GTI’s.Yes, I was the original boy racer with the hot hatch.
As life moved on the company car hack came along. Fifty thousand miles a year and getting on for a million miles later the joy of cars and driving had been well and truly knocked out of me. Cross Country Mountain Bike racing was my thrill at the weekends for many years, anything to get away from the roads. The development of the mountain bike from the late eighties was an exciting period with the innovations and materials becoming more exotic.
A little while back Anne and I had had enough of working for an employer and we bought a run-down Bed and Breakfast near Loch Lomond. Working from home and with the beautiful scenery and quiet roads I have rekindled my enjoyment of the car for pleasure. We started to welcome and encourage classic cars and enthusiasts and have had many interesting vehicles and individuals staying with us.
I had found the bug again. After hankering for a Fordson tractor for many years I came to my senses and knew that I wanted, no needed, a classic car of some sort. But what to have? Did I want an Escort of some sort or an early hot hatch? No, I had my mind set on a British open top 2 seater. What did I want though? An E-Type, an Alpine, a TR, an MG of some sort? Then in a classic car mag I saw an advert for a Jensen Healey. I remembered a yellow Jensen Healey that was always at college back in the 70’s and a decision was made. Shamefully, I knew nothing about them so the obvious choice was to become a JOC member and locate a Healey. Not that easy when most of the Healey’s for sale are way down south. A deal was done last autumn on an early green Healey after only sitting in it and firing it up from a restorer some 500 miles away. It dawned on me that it is the first ever rwd car that I have owned!
It took another two months or so until I was able to get it trailered up to Scotland through the snow and the rain. Not an ideal journey for the car on an open trailer. I have had it with me now for a month and have had the Healey out a couple of times when the weather and road conditions allowed. The car is number 91 off the production line and registered in August 1972. I’m really pleased with it. It needs some tidying and some TLC especially to the interior. The car came with a file full of old documentation and receipts going back 30 years. Since an engine rebuild in 1988 only 8000 additional miles have been added to the clock.
So, with hopefully the nicer weather coming, I will be able to tinker with the smaller jobs, learn a lot more about 10091 and enjoy driving again.

Nice Healey Kevin, I particularly like the colour.
Now that you are regalia officer, would you perhaps be looking for a towbar to tow the regalia trailer?? :lol:

Colin should have bought a bigger trailer then Kevin could have got the Healey in as well :D

I used to take the marquee and some regalia in my Healey, it's amazing how much you can get in one, as long as its just the driver travelling.
If you really want to see how much you can get in a Healey you should see David and Helen Newby travelling long distance in their car :shock:

It would be good if any members wanted to stay, need to book though. I'm sure a decent discount can be arranged. Good real ale pub and restaurant a couple of minutes walk away. Any localish members, just call in for a cuppa, we are usually here. http://www.fascadail.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
