Graham Curtis, the new Cumbria area rep, owns this rather nice low mileage Interceptor Convertible.
Graham bought the car with 25,800 miles in April 2007. Due to the car’s low mileage the car doesn’t have a great deal of history.
The car is very original, Graham was pulled by the police last autumn coming home late from a rally round the Borders because he had a headlight out, on inspection it was the original bulb! Some members have used the car to check how things should be on theirs.
It`s very reliable, runs at approx 60/70psi oil pressure and returns approx 15mpg on rallies around the countryside, the temp gauge never above one third. It came with the original key fob, the Jensen manila envelope for hand book etc, the 2 pin plug for in the glove box, and fire extinguisher. The only missing part is the first aid kit.
Graham feels very lucky to own the car which he sometimes thinks should be in a museum but on the other hand it was made to be driven so he does, but tries to avoid wet weather although it`s not always possible when pre booked on rallies. He had a water leak in through the windscreen but has cured it with Capt.Tolley`s Creeping Crack Cure. On one occasion, parked in a hotel car park in Glasgow, overnight torrential rain filled the footwells to sill height.
Graham has used the cars for lots of events, including JOC Internationals and Autumn Weekends, London to Cape Wrath 2008, many Rotary Club rallies around the country including one in Scotland where he won a bottle of Malt Whisky for having the most desirable car.
