Interceptor interior light delay relay

by Gav » Fri Feb 21, 2020 11:49 pm

Hi all, does anyone have a useable interior light delay relay that mounts in the drivers door or can anyone give me a cross reference to an alternative that will do the job.
Many thanks in advance.

I don’t have a picture of what it should look like as most of it was missing when I stripped out the door, but I do have a picture of what was left.

If you're not fussed about using the original Lucas unit Gav.. then I would use a newer type electronic one as these old type Lucas ones are a Bi-Metalic strip set-up and are a bit slow to react, I find you want the lights to come on as you open the door and not 10 seconds later like they do, unless mine that I repaired is slower than normal, it's something I wanted to do was to put an electronic one in, but I never got around to it and sometimes I like the old type things that were how they were if you know what I mean  .. I am sure all the usual suppliers have these old type ones in stock do they not?

I think the Interceptor ones are the same as in the GT - Chrysler part number 2889565 or Standard part number RY300. It will burn out if you leave the door open too long. This has happened several times when my GT was in the paint shop :|

Thanks guys, all comments taken on board and have decided to use a Durite 10 second off delay unit as is the same money as the RY300 from the states but without the shipping/duty. It’s hidden behind the door panel so won’t be seen anyway. Cheers all.
