Jensen 541 Horn Button Assembly

by SRD » Sun Sep 10, 2017 10:16 am

I am looking for a steering wheel horn push for a 541, I believe made by Lucas originally.

Would prefer a complete unit, but don't mind buying any of the parts.

Simon

I have no idea what your horn push looks like, but according to the net the same button was fitted to Astons, Bristols and split screen Morris Minors.

Is this similar?

Kev hi

You are correct that the same horn button was fitted to AM DB2's, Lagondas and early Bristols and possibly Austin Healeys.

The horn push you have shown from a Minor is different.

This is a perfect modern sprayed copy with correct shape profile and in two parts:

I think I have some horn internals for a big Healey, you are welcome to have them if I can locate them.

Hi

Went down my workshop to find the horn assembly for you.

Eventually found it and saw it is the type with the indicator switch built into the horn (I think the correct name is a Manette).

This is not the same as on your car and so I don't think any of the parts would be suitable.
