Holy smokes... anyone looking for MK1 switches?

Post by Terdu »

Hi all.. anyone has some money burning a hole in their pocket?

For the small price of $2000 dollars, you could be the owner of 7 Lucas switches!
Found a Vignale built LHD MK1 in South Africa, Sincar #15, chassis 117/2592.
On a long and winding road to restore it back to original condition.

These switches are not so much of a problem you can buy the same switch with a different toggle end and after a bit of fiddling swap the tops over so you have a new switch with the correct toggle stye lever.

Haha, yes that's actually exactly what i'm doing. I bought a set of 4 switches for 35USD on ebay that were complete garbage except for the 'beavertail'.. stripped those from the switches, and the bakelite (?) material cleans up very nicely with a bit of wet sanding and polishing.

Still, i'm just wondering if there are really buyers for this kind of switches at this kind of money. If there are, that would be a nice side-gig.. :D
