Jensen-Healey Hardtop for sale in UK

Post by kees »

Complete looking J-H hardtop. Usually the very hard to get chrome trim bits are lost.

Hi Kees,

Thank you for sending the link.

In your experience, is it worth having an original hard top, or are they badly fitting etc?

Neither the original hardtop nor the Lenham one are properly fitting. They offer only slightly more protection than the softtop (which is rather useless unless tailor made). Especially the rear ledge leaves fairly large gaps. Also all hard/softtops are leaking where they meet the windscreen.

I have a new softtop on my J/H that is a good fit (not tried it in the rain yet!).

Maybe it is not worth paying several hundred pounds for the original hardtop, but might be good to have the option to fit.

A hardtop does look quite good though on the J-H.

Thanks for pictures, I agree the hardtop does look good,
so, I have bought the one from Ebay!

If you do visit the UK for the Healey meet, we have holiday accommodation here, you would be most welcome, and we could talk Jensens!

Thanks for the offer. We will just have to wait and see how the travel situation is developing. At the moment there is no holiday travel abroad allowed from the NL. At least in a months time I will have my two Covid-19 vaccinations so hopefully they will grant more freedom to those who have been vaccinated.

Hi Wil,
It's great to see you so enthusiastically contributing to the Forum with your interesting posts. May I mention, as a moderator, a Forum tip? It is not usually necessary to quote a previous message, just because we can! Usually the context is clear from a post before yours, or you can name check a person to make it clear who you are addressing. But, feel free to pop in a cheeky quote if it helps the clarity of your post.

Keep an eye on the position of your reply: if it appears before the [/quote] box it will appear in small print inside the quote box.

These things aren't rules, just ways to make the most of the Forum. If you have any queries, feel free to contact me and enjoy posting.

Best Regards,
Stephen (moderator).

Do not forget the donor cars, i.e.:
Vauxhall Viva/Firenza/Magnum: suspension, steering rack, upper steering column parts, brakes, front indicator lights, alternative wheels.
Lotus Eclat/Elite/Esprit; engine parts
Aston-Martin, Lotus, Reliant: rear lights.
Sunbeam/Hillman/Humber: 4-speed gearbox, these also provide the OD for the gearbox, radiator (minus core).
Alfa Guilia/Guilietta: small side lights on the front wings.
and others for small parts.
