C-V8 fuel tank
C-V8 fuel tank, solid and tidy, does sound like it has some loose debris inside. Does not leak. £100.00 I can look into postage if necessary.

I.m looking for a replacement tank for my 541R. This tank looks alike. Does anyone know if theybare the same?

Re: C-V8 fuel tank
If Ian can post some more photos we should be able to work out if it is similar to the 541 type tanks.

I got in reach of Ian. We found out that these tanks look alike at first glance but actually are different in size. So they are regrettably not interchangeale

Hi Michiel, I have recently removed an interceptor fuel tank from a 541R, so am slightly surprised that you have reached this conclusion already regarding the CV8 tank.

Re: C-V8 fuel tank
Hi Dave,
I must be wrong then. I thought the difference in largest length (93 cm 541R and 99 cm cv8) and the difference in fuel capacaty i found on carfolio.com (59 liter 541R and 72 liter cv8).was a strong identication for a difference. Also the assumption that the cv8 doesn't have the fuel reserve solenoid.and therefore wouldn't need such a fitment.

Re: C-V8 fuel tank
Hi Michiel,
it was the presence (or not) of the hole for the fuel solenoid valve that I was hoping would identify whether the tank would be suitable or not. You can purchase new fuel tanks (send me a PM for details) or get a local stainless steel welder / fabricator to copy the old one...
cheers

Re: C-V8 fuel tank
I bought a beautiful stainless steel tank from Andy Brooks and have it home allready. A bit heavy, but build to last endlessly without rust, debris, clogged up filters and so on. Stainless straps to go with it.

Re: C-V8 fuel tank
Glad to hear you got a tank sorted Michiel.
The C-V8 tank is definitely longer than my 541DL tank. It could be made to fit if you cut off both ends, shortened it and then rewelded the seams. Obviously there is no reserve solenoid either, but that's nothing a decent gauge wouldn't correct.
However, once you've gone to that much work you can probably fix your old one!
