Hi guys, sorry to bring an ancient thread back from the dead.
My car is missing the original bonnet release lever, and i've been digging through files and searching the interwebs for one. I also struggle to find any reference photo's from Jensen sources at the moment.
However, I have found that a lot of the vignale trim used were shared with other cars built by vignale at the time. As such, I think I've recognized similar parts used on the Maserati Mexico and Quattroporto of 1966/67.
Can anyone confirm that indeed the picture below is the type needed/used on the vignale mk1s?

If so, the second question is: Where would I be able to find one.. I see this thread started with a batch of 10 for sale in 2016.. surely somone must still have one on a shelf somewhere that they are willing to part with? Pretty please? :D

On a long and winding road to restore it back to original condition.

That style bonnet release is also used on DeTomaso Panteras.

Here’s one, just FYI. You may be able to find something cheaper through the Pantera Parts vendors.

That seems to be the right latch. I don't know if they made them handed (probably not). On a LHD Jensen you see the pulling loop at the bottom and on a RHD you see it at the top.

Thanks Richard. What do you mean the 'pulling loop'? I'm not following.. probably because I don't have anything correct to reference from.

I think they were as cheap as around £35 each Jasper, but from memory I think we bought them in from Australia, so there was shipping and import, but they were very cheap at the time I thought  ..you can leave a search on ebay for items and then get an email when 1 comes up..that's what I do for things Jasper..one always comes up in the end even if it is a year later

You're right.. but I found it in EU mainland now as well. 75 euro, easier shipping and no customs/duty/tax.. so cheaper still!
Bought.. on its way to my growing parts collection.
