Re: Complete Interceptor Tailgate on ebay
Gents, pls remember that a tailgate from another car will most likely not fit your car! I made the mistake years ago to buy a tailgate with minimal rust, fix it up, fit glass etc and then ......... It did not fit the car at all I ended up taking it all off and used the replacement tailgate as a source of parts let into the old one. Lots of cut/weld fettle. So unless your original tailgate is very far gone you may well be better off repairing it with sheet steel cut/stretched/shrunk to fit.

Re: Complete Interceptor Tailgate on ebay
I’m contemplating using a tailgate from a donor car for my other Interceptor. Have other members experienced problems with fitting a tailgate from another car?

Re: Complete Interceptor Tailgate on ebay
Yes and no.
I fitted a replacement which went on quite well. I didn't even remove the glass.
Andrew in Australia is fitting one described here: https://www.joc.org.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=29669" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Others have had problems which are also well documented.
Try it and see how it fits. You might get lucky. Or you might not.

Re: Complete Interceptor Tailgate on ebay
You should probably start a new thread for this discussion in Interceptor Tech as it's currently in the Parts for Sale section.
I would suggest by removing the chrome trim and glass and then see how bad it is. As others have said, it might be repairable and that would be the best. Take care on removing the glass as the wires for the heated glass run up the side of the glass under the rubber and you don't want to damage these.
