BMC King Pin for Sale fits CV8' 541 & Early Interceptor.

Post by Stewart Morgan »

Hello All
I have an original BMC new old stock King pin with associated bushes etc purchased "part 8G4207.

I believe this pin although used on the BMC Westminster cars, was also used on the 541/CV8 and early MK 1 Interceptors.

For sale for £ 150 includes carriage to Uk.

This is an original Pin in good order and wrapped in protective paper. May be used as reference if someone needs to have more produced as I believe that is a topic of conversation on this forum.

Without checking the part number, I suspect this will be ok for a 541s but not 541r or early 541.

If this really is new / unused it would be great if someone could verify the dimensions against the drawing we have! We have a couple of missing dimensions on the drawing and it would help to clarify these before we start manufacture again.
Any chance of someone doing this?

Hi Tony & Dave,

What is your opinion: will they fit the Jensen 541S?

If yes, I am willing to buy and ship to Tony for the measurement/reproduction.

Hi Andy,

It is interesting to check of this will fit the Jensen 541S and to keep it as a spare or use it as a sample for reproduction.
I never heart of that company. Do you have any contactinformation??

Stewart: are you willing to sent these to this company for a check??

The only link to Faygate I know is SCP (Specialist Car Products) of Faygate near Gatwick. They own the Armstrong shock absorbers tooling and make old suspension parts. I thought they had moved to Tamworth.

I am sure that most of you will have worked this out for yourselves - but just in case....

This thread contains a couple of references to the early interceptor (mark 1). To be absolutely clear, the Austin A110 kingpin which I believe is the subject of this thread, (also 541S and CV8) fits the mark 1 V8 Interceptors (1966 onwards) NOT the 1950s 4 litre 6 cylinder "early" interceptors (Joerg will already have worked out that I do not need to single out his one off V8 early interceptor).
