Drive it day

Post by AlistairT »

Hi there people, took the old girl out for a blast yesterday and all is well, any thoughts on this year’s drive it day. I’ve looked at the current Covid-19 rules and what I understand is we should be able to have a get together for a run out. Yesterday there was loads of people out and about and a big number of motorcycles group’s going for a blast and then stopping for a brew ect. It would be great if there is a car related event or place we could attend, I’ll check tonight and hopefully we can find something to do.
Cheers

Hello Alistai,

We discussed this during the Zoom meeting on 28 March. There was a positive response to doing something but exactly what, we are working on it!

regards

Hi David. Been checking over the last few weeks but we might have to wait till next Monday to see if any museums or other places will be open. At the moment motor museum in the lakes is still closed as well as transport museum in leyland and Bury. Lancashire car club are planning to drive to hebden bridge and back according to their website, nothing confirmed yet. I’ll try and find out more stuff after Monday’s lockdown restrictions are lifted..

Hi All

We are having a short drive on “Drive IT” day to Lytham St Annes this coming Sunday morning 25th April.

Not our normal meal in the pub sorry to say, so bring your own picnic and we will make the best of it for this year.

No need for convoy this year but if you wish to meet up first we plan to start off from the Hoghton Arms pub at around 11.30am

Hoghton Arms
Blackburn Rd, (A674)
Withnell
Chorley
PR6 8BL

We plan to drive and meet up at the Queens Hotel around 12.30pm before finding a suitable spot for a picnic.

The Queens Hotel
Central Beach
Lytham St Annes
Lancashire
FY8 5LB

Hope you can come along, please make sure we allow space and follow government guidelines.

Best Regards

After much thought and discussion we will be going ahead with this event. Steve Raines has placed an e-mail today providing details of our plan. As well as meeting up at the Hoghton Arms, at 1130, you can drive directly to Lytham and park on the seafront opposite the Queens Hotel, waiting for everyone to arrive.

I would appreciate anyone coming to let me know so we can plan better, mobile 07506 001431.

regards
