JOC Northwest Summary July / August 2016

Post by SRS2000 »

Hi All - Just a quick area update as there’s a few up and coming events….
Firstly we had a great day at Towneley Hall Park 29th June with Darren Barnes, Dave M, Andy/Teresa and myself.

July 2016 we have…

16th to 17th Manchester Airport's Wings and Wheels event takes place.

17th July Newby Hall Show organised by Mark Maniatt, he’s looking a big 50th anniversary turn out as possible.

31st July For our end of month meeting again we have the option of meeting at the Romper or going to Bodelwyddan Castle car show – are there any takers pls ? Pls see links to the Castle web page and booking website if you want to go. Looks like it could be a good day out approx. 140 mile round trip.

August 2016

14th August Hoghton Tower Lancashire Classic car show, again any takers from the area, be good to support local events?
20th -21st August Tatton Park – Passion For Power Show
28th August JOC North west BBQ Pls see separate notice

Car News
Andy and Teresa MkIII “light and the end of the tunnel” , engine, gearbox and running gear all back in, primer and first base coat complete – it’s not far off !

Paul’s SP coming to the end of welding.

Alistair’s fantastic 541 having some TLC with new headers and some engine tweaks (More Power !)

Steve M’s FF getting some fuel line upgrades with various improvements, Steve’s an engineer and as we all know they love to solve problems.

Dave P has is 5 year FF project on the go and a house move (next year’s hols sorted)

Dave R’s making progress with his MKIII, it sits side by side in the lockup with my MK1 (which needs some serious resto) and “The Thug Mobile” of Paul.

Lastly welcome back to Dave Manock and Maureen following their fabulous trip to Turin and back in the MKIII with only one broken fuse! Some stats for you guys… 2192Miles round trip, 123 Gallons Fuel at 18.15 mpg. Guess Dave’s well pleased with that, he had “TerraCleaned” advanced cleaning service before the trip, looks to have paid off. Cheers All

Hi guys, unfortunately the 541R has a few more things that need doing, so won't be at Newby Hall, can't attend Houghton car show as we are away. Booked for Tatton Park on the Sunday. I'm at Silverstone classic at the end of July so will miss the romper meet. See you all soon. Cheers Alistair
