Interceptor Convertible for sale

Post by the baron »

Hi there, I'm thinking of selling my Interceptor Convertible to fund another project. I thought I'd pop it on here before letting the masses get wind of it.

Its a 1974 model and I've owned it for 3 years during which time it has had the following work done (if I can remember it all that is):

Strip and respray in BMW Canyon Red Mica which I think looks rather marvellous.
Rear valance panel replaced
Bonnet replaced
New Hood made and fitted. This is a one piece hood so it doesn't leak and let in exhaust fumes and was made in Twillfast which looks like duck but is at least 20 times better- BMW use it in current cars. The hood lining was also replaced with new wool.
The rest of the interior has been re-conollised and new carpets fitted
Jaguar electrically adjustable wing mirrors fitted
New speakers and quad hi fi fitted with ipod docking
Holley mapped fuel injection system
Modern Dodge gearbox with torque converter lock up
HDI lamps fitted on the main beam circuit (its like daylight!)
High torque starter motor
Remote lock/unlocking

That lot cost a small fortune but the car is a far better driver now and returns 18 to the gallon with a sensible right foot.

Being an Interceptor there are a few little jobs that still need to be sorted:
The distributor advance curve needs to be re-calibrated to match the EFI, it's prone to pinking under load at the moment
The air con needs re-gassing
The window gearboxes could do with a refurb to speed up the windows.

Hopefully, a few pictures will be here

I'll listen to vaguely sensible offers over £20k but this isn't a fire sale!
Car (and me) is in Malvern, Worcs

Safe motoring,

Genetics would have us believe so. The question is how closely...
David is such a common name that I once played in a pop band where all 4 members were called David, Dave or Dai

I remember your band, Brotherhood of Man!! I loved that song you used to sing, how does it go now "United we stand, DaveDaiDavid we fall..." I loved those harmonies!!
