It's a commonly used (in UK english) term to describe an auction that starts high and the price drops until someone buys (or nobody buys, as in this case).

Dutch Auction: a process of selling something in which the price is reduced until a buyer agrees to pay it. I believe this one started at over £70k on FB but thus far has apparently not resulted in a sale.

I remember viewing this car when previously for sale. The vendor was asking circa £9 -11k. It was a very long time ago!
I thought at the time it was one of very few really nice MK1s on the market.
