As I said to you Pymmie, it’s a strong advert and if I can’t talk you out of selling it, best of luck with the sale.

Of course, if you’re looking for a replacement 5 seater with huge load area, room for a 6 foot roof rack on top, bullet proof mechanicals, good residuals, excellent parts back up, eye catching works/ leisure vehicle (with removable sign writing) which is tax, (MoT ) and ULEZ exempt which you can unload for free at the Civic Amenity site…..you know what I’m going to say don’t you

The auction house have moved the auction forward one week , and swapped positions with the brown one on C & C .

A great start to the auction, reserve met bid as soon as it began.

Still a great bargain at that price though, it shows that quality cars will sell at auction.

Reserve met so one bid is all it takes.....I am sure there are a few "snipers" out there who will wait until the last few seconds in the hope that they can bag a bargain at a price lower than if they had engaged in a macho bidding war way ahead of the deadline.

Re Pymmies car. Am i allowed to ask wot price?? Thinking of you all here on Australia North Coast. Winter temp is single digits (Celsius) at night and early morning but rises to 18-22C during day. With your heat wave am not looking forward to summer even though we get regular 38-40C. it's not the heat that gets you, you can manage dry heat but if humidity is high it is exhausting. Just about everywhere is A/C Kenny38

Currently sitting at £48K with reserve already met!

Credit to Pymmie, not everyone has the balls to push the button and put their pride and joy out there in an online auction, in the middle of WW3, with a low reserve!

Whatever price it makes, the buyer has the satisfaction of knowing that they are paying a fair market price, not some fantasy sticker price dreamt up by a dealer. What you see is what you get for a change. No smoke and mirrors. Nothing more annoying than waiting months for a car, arranging finance, mortgaging your granny, then the seller won't take anything like market price because "reserve not met".

Quick update.

3 individual bidders. 2nd place is sending his 'man' to have a look tomorrow before deciding wether to bid more.

As the auction started with the first bid making reserve I would hope that bidder will also come back with another bid.

Will be interesting to see how it pans out @ 7.40pm on Thursday..

I will never know if it was the right thing to do , but i've certainly enjoyed ownership of 128/4451 and hope the next
custodian has a similar experience..

Johns car finished at £55,500 which I think was a good price for an Interceptor at auction. Personally I think the car could have got more as a private sale but this would have been a drawn out process and possibly dealing with a few dreamers and tyre kickers.

So it goes to show that a known good car well presented will fetch decent money and my theory of why many Interceptors seem cheap going through auction is because they are poorly maintained cars that will need much time and money spending on them to bring them up to the standard of this car.

I hope the new custodian of this car enjoys it as much as John has over the past few years.

Thanks for kind words Dave ..

I spent a long time deciding how & when to sell.

Although an educated risk , C & C Auction worked for me.

£55,500 was bang on the club’s & insurance values.

Really pleased it’s going to an enthusiast and not a dealer.

I think you’ll see the car at future events in the South East.

I think someone got a very good buy here. So many cars are over done. What hasn't been done on this car hasn't been done for a good reason, namely it didn't need doing and the car is better for not having had it done, more interesting, more authentic. Good people must have worked on it to get it here, so for servicing etc, if you are not doing it yourself, stay with the program and pay them a visit. You have all the paperwork. We have not seen anything this good at a dealer for anything like this money in a very long time.
