Re: Int3 at Historics auction 136- 8154 FWW 73L
Hi
this is my car.
A change of location and activity has lead to the sale - I've no garage in East London and I have somehow ended up owning three motorbikes which I'm keen to use!
Fire away with any questions. Lots of history in my ownership, a moderate amount before that. Mileage likely to be genuine - MOTs tally, plus I know it was in the Batley museum as HH sold it from there (and confirmed that to me). Drives well. It was the hero car in 'All the Money in the World' (Ridley Scott), driven by Mark Wahlberg.
Initial work was done by Paul Lewis/Pale Classics, then looked after in Surrey by Eric at Classic Car Mechanics (including a lot of work sorting seals etc)
headlines - new engine and dash wiring, new heater matrix, new fenair kit, ceramic headers, NOS Holley carb, minor sills work to bring back to spec, LED kit for rear/side and internal, lucas fog lamps added, reservoirs/gauges/sensors fettled or replaced as necessary, seals all chased down and replaced where necessary including a new sump.
boot lid painted by Lawrence in Storrington 3 years ago; the car was then booked in (just before lockdown of course) with him to have other work done as necessary but that moment passed - and his very good advice was to leave it so that a new custodian can see exactly how it is and choose their own colour - it was originally tangerine.
defunct 8 track gutted and replaced internally with amp and a bluetooth/auxiliary module and new speakers (sounds ok, easy to upgrade again). USB power routed withe the aux cable.
Much of the interior is A1, seat sections for quality donor leather have been sourced along with a new seat base from Rejen as was which should cover the tidying up - that work was also booked in but didn't happen due to lockdown.
If you'd like more details or a chat then add to the thread or PM me, or speak to Neil (Interceptor Reg) who can put us in touch.
cheers
Gareth

It is good to have some genuine owner input rather than having to rely on pure "auction speak". Best of luck with the sale Gareth.

Looks very nice. Hope new keeper can keep the black gloss up. Any guide to price expected? Kenny38

Thanks Kenny
suggested price range (historics) is 31-36 but they've sold cars in a lot less good condition for that money; Pauls club valuation certificate in 2018 after most but not all of the work was 38; Neil (interceptor registrar) thinks over 40 is reasonable from chatting to him (but without him seeing the car so not an offical valuation).

Hammer price £23k not sold yet but let's hope a deal can be done later in the day....

Deal done. Price will be revealed - don’t know what the commission worked out as yet.

Historics are reporting the sale at £28,600. Let's hope they have thrown some of their 10% commission from both parties into the mix and Gareth is satisfied with the outcome.
Re: Int3 at Historics auction 136- 8154 FWW 73L
Thanks
There was a lot of movement there from other party and then from historics to get it over the line. It was a balance, of course - any less and I would have invested in the car myself. Best wishes to the new owner…

Sorry if this sounds harsh and judgemental, but what sort of a cheapskate advert is that?
They want to advertise 16 cars, but they only want to pay Ebay for one classified ad, and they don't want to state a price for any of their cars.
If I could be bothered, I'd report it to Ebay (but I won't, because they won't care...).

Re: Int3 at Historics auction 136- 8154 FWW 73L
A happy ending for once! Gorgeous filmstar well priced Interceptor needs garage, owner takes haircut due to lack of said garage and wants car looked after first and foremost, new buyer knows he is onto a good deal, stumps up a fair bit more than the hammer price, car gets a nice garage. The buyer seems to be a haulage and transport specialist, with some very nice storage for his "obviously a bit of a car fanatic" collection. Maybe his first "Interceptor", he might not be able to spell the car name yet, but he knows a good one, takes a punt and lands an a beauty. Every car in his collection is up for sale, every number plate has it's price. You will probably get a better deal than with a full time car dealer, especially if you have something in PX that takes his fancy. Here is an advert for one of his treasures with contact number. Very nice Mk1 Jag. It is not cheap but then maybe he doesn't really want to sell it. Still a bit less than restoring one to that condition. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/165566609070 ... SwW0diiSjE
Have you seen our stolen Jensen FF 119/011 https://twitter.com/jensenffdotcom
Re: Int3 at Historics auction 136- 8154 FWW 73L
This guy is a good opportunist. He sees a quality car THAT SHOULD NOT REALLY BE IN AN AUCTION!! and knows he will sell again for a profit eventually. Knows a bargain. Is really a dealer and tax status would prove that except dealers usually give a warranty. This guy is so far as the general ebay Joe's are concerned a private collector /seller. Watch him sell Jensen for in excess of 38K. Surely our owners have learn't by now that generally so far as our cars are concerned auction sales are for shite heaps/projects with a bit of lip stick on. Just about impossible to sell a quality car at a reasonable price. Be VERY careful when buying via auction. Just why Pymmie put his car on there beats me. Would have got a lot more and quicker in a private sale. His high quality car was a distinct outlier from the usual 20 footers. Yes I know reserve was met with first bid but still........Kenny38
