Now this one deserves saving. Grant will be ecstatic at the prospect as John W. will. I believe it has the same ash trays it left the factory with. Plus perhaps a door opener on string. Historic tyres fitted and an easily fixed paint job should tempt readers of "For Idiots Only. Now whose day can I stuff up today? Kenny38

Plus the resto will be speeded up because you don’t need to waste time with the removal of that headlight surround!

This is one that I can agree with Kenny…. It probably has past it’s prime, and may only be suitable as an organ donor!

It looked quite attractive while it was in the weeds.
It should have remained there!

Owner has a cheek not paying for an arsonist to put an end to this wreck that probably should have been put down years ago. perhaps the club should secretly buy these rubbish bins ans send to the crusher but first remove the ash trays. Kenny38

Many a true word about the ash tray! £40 second hand from Jensen Service!

In all seriousness, this isn't a viable restoration but it obviously has a value to those looking for a few parts. That may not add up to the amounts being bid on the car at the moment and I for one am struggling to spot the value here. But if you need side glass that may not be heavily scratched, Stainless trim, a set of rusty brake calipers to use as a core exchange, heater controls, alloys for exchange, a gearbox to rebuild or even a diff that is not as worn as some...this might be the car for you. The Market as ever will decide...

And 7 bidders thought they might like a challenge and the Market decided £1850 was the price worth paying.

They will have trouble making this back on the tyres and ash trays. Kenny38

Engine, gearbox, rear axle, alloy wheels, prop shaft, windshield and side glass, doors and frames, interior parts, headlight surrounds, rear springs, front suspension parts, stainless steel strips around rear hatch, radiator grille.....
Lots of scope for recovering your expenditure by resale, or just worthwhile having them around as spares.
Isn't the rear hatch frame itself worth £500-00 or more?
Good value imho.

The drugs have obviously worn off and the lucky buyer has decided to flip the remains of this one at Mathewsons auction....although the video commentary suggests it remained with the original owner and didn't sell on ebay. Hmm...

What on earth is wrong with people. My talented missus who does mosaic and sells it reckons one could buy this wreck as a work of static art or mosaic it. Kenny38
