Selling on a best offer basis. Best offer will be submitted to the vendor for consideration on fall of the hammer.

Looked like a reasonable proposition at the £1850 sold for on ebay, so seller is now flipping or has buyers remorse. Anyone know what it was bid up to? Could be worth a chat to the auctioneer.

The Ebay seller got good feedback from the buyer: "Very helpful hope to deal with again." suggesting that the transaction completed.

Back again on ebay, no reserve, already at £1800 with 3 days to go. Hopefully it will go to a soon to be committed restorer this time and not as parts!

The seller now is clearly a man of taste, listing a little used Corgi Batmobile starting at 99p, and a 2 owner Armstrong Siddeley Sapphire complete with tool kit and an interesting registration (which may or may not be included), also starting at 99p. He is also selling a clean looking X300 Jag which might make a daily driver as is while the lucky winner works on the other two Gentlemen's expresses!

I hate to be pointing out "odd patterns of bidding" yet again, but the sight of one bidder bidding 5 times in around 20 seconds does not fill me with confidence that this auction is completely above board...

There are times where you can see this as a legitimate sign of someone trying to figure out a reserve - but that doesn't apply in this case.

The 9th photo claims to be a car he restored last year!

I think we all know this to be ‘inaccurate’

It’s the Vignale bodied car left to rot for close to 30 years under a tarp!

To be fair, he actually says:
THE LAST PHOTO IS NOT OF THIS CAR BUT OF ONE I SOLD YEAR AGO A WELL KNOWN CAR WITCH I HAVE BEEN TOLD IS NEAR DONE NOW
Truly WITCHcraft if that restoration has been polished off in a year.
"Now that chassis number is particularly interesting ‘cos it’s the one after the one before, which is the one after mine, not many people know that"

He says that he sold that car in the last picture a year ago and that it is "near done".

Who knows what almost done means in practice. It is not the first time he claims to have transported / sold the other car. He specialises in transporting wrecks. Not everyone will move a car in that condition, some won't touch them. He also listed some other classy wrecks.

I once spoke to the new owner of 13 SDV (The Tarp Car)

He said he swept up all the bits , bagged them and labelled them.

He’s called Mark Dew & is well known as a ‘collector’

Presumably labelled as "Rusty bits bag 1", "Rusty bits bag 2", "More Rusty bits" and so on?

Really useful info John, thanks. I was trying to track down the owner.

There was a beautiful open air museum in Switzerland, proper quality classics, now lost due to council action. Again a father and son enterprise probably stretching back 70 years.

We bought 2 of our Range Rovers as a DIY package deal from this yard as they were forced to clear the cars. With a bit of work they were both good and both took me all over Europe. Very interesting and knowledgeable owner who employs 2 mechanics. They repair older cars for locals and fill in with work for the owner. He actually does have a stunning collection, many now recommissioned repainted. This guy was definitely making the effort to find good homes. These were the 2 cheapest Range Rovers in Switzerland and both at the same yard.

There is a much larger modern car only open air junkyard in Aargau, full of eurobox rubbish. I wonder how that one is allowed?

Hopefully gone to a deserving home this time and not a flipper!
