Originally grey with black interior, it will be interesting to see what parts are included with, or missing from the package on offer.

Very extensive amount of work required to get it back on the road...

Will be interesting to see what it may sell for,

Did 1972 cars have wood dashboards? Or have this and the sunroof been added later.

No wood dash in 1972. Some 74 and then on 75 and 76 cars. :)

Given it is being auctioned, and the sunroof, dash and bonnet not original, any ideas on whether possible to check if it still has its original numbers and any views on the underneath of the car from the auction photos?

Current reg is PMC 723L

Not sure what other numbers you are referring to. Upholstery is unlikely to show original numbers but depends on whether it was re-upholstered of swapped out from another car. The chassis numbers will presumably be in the usual places but not on the bonnet or dash obviously.

The underside floors shows signs of patching covered with plenty of seam sealer, presumably at the same time that the side members were (hopefully) properly replaced. The boot are is thick with sealant of some sort so worthy of physical inspection to make sure it is not covering any horrors. Painting needs to be inspected and completed on the bonnet (good luck with matching it) and it is unclear what it might be covering up.

As for originality add the carb, camshaft, manifold and alternator to the list of non-original spec items. At least some of the other upgrades are recognised as being fitted later in the production run and the sunroof is a nice touch if it works seals and drains correctly.

If you value originality, maybe not for you. If not - worthy of further consideration if only to see exactly what else is missing from the package. There are parts in the boot - can't see too clearly so some might be hiding - but I am seeing £5000 on the parts list already - bumpers, tyres, lights, air con, grilles, trim, engine wiring loom, servo?, master cylinder, fuse box........

Thanks - that’s helpful. I meant matching engine and chassis numbers. Looks like one to avoid unless it could be bought for £7-8,000

The ad is wrong....who would think that such a thing could ever happen? Although the dash is a later addition the round tube bumper mounts and several other features date it to the chassis number as given. Current reg should be PMC 723L I believe. At least the vendor has moved the carb and manifold from the front seat and placed it under the bonnet for this sales attempt.
