1972 Jensen Interceptor SP - 63,000 miles
A very rare incarnation of the Jensen Interceptor. The Jensen SP (for "Six Pack") has the distinction of being the most powerful car ever to have been made by Jensen Motors. Indeed, at the time of its release in August 1971, the SP was one of the most powerful road cars anywhere in the world. Its specification seemed to turn back the hands of time because in 1971 Mopar engines had been reduced in compression ratio and power output to the point where they were mere shadows of their former selves.
Paradoxically, at the very time Jensens started manufacturing the SP, it was illegal for Chrysler to put the Six-Pack engine into a new car in the United States. Six-Packs were listed briefly in the Mopar catalogs for 1972 but were deleted immediately after the engine failed its emissions test. Jensens had bought up their stock of engines at the end of the production run so, by the time the SP was in production, it was no longer possible to market the car in the States.
£59,950.

This also is a mere shadow of its former self as it's lost its six pack!Bob Bentley wrote: ↑Tue Nov 16, 2021 1:06 pmbecause in 1971 Mopar engines had been reduced in compression ratio and power output to the point where they were mere shadows of their former selves.

To be fair, if its still a numbers matching SP then reinstating the six-pack isn't the end of the world.
Good luck with the sale.

When are you guys going to stop carrying on about a six pack or lack of it. An SP with a 780 holley packs as much oomph as a six pack on a 440 engine.Without the six pack you still have a much more usuable and fast engine without having to creep about on a small middle carb so as not to get only about 6- 10 miles to gallon with foot rarely planted. I seem to remember some one on this forum stating a six pack can deliver 1300 cfm but a 440 engine can only accommodate 900 so the six pack on a 440 engine was really meant for street racing in heavily modified cars. I don't have original engine as that got rooted being used as a pace car at a race track and was constantly run red hot. A new 440 high compression was put in but 6 pack was also stuffed so replaced with a reasonably big carb. Now years ago I was challanged by a six pack owner (SP) to a quarter miler. I easily beat it in high 13's. Same day gave a DB6 (a Kray car) a run and was a bit disapointed but didn't comment. All down to correct tuning of course (I suppose). I do appreciate, though that the SP with 6 pack was "historic" and can be revered by anoraks. It might rain today.

I don't see where it says that it is the original engine just without the SP.

It's either very fast or the brakes aren't so good (or both!) as the drivers seat appears to be somewhat "soiled".
