Now being offered without reserve....a departure from the previous £13k-£17k estimate in the printed catalogue. Viewings must have gone well then.....

Hi all
I had quite a good look at this car at MB World on Thursday. The body looked remarkably good (despite the dirt!), and the interior was also in very good shape. Some rust evident on the chassis, but it was difficult to get a good idea what it was like underneath. All in all, I'd say this car is an excellent project for the new owner - one of the best condition "barn finds" I've ever seen. Hope to see it on the road some time soon!

Agreed. Managed to get a 10 minute look on Thursday 9am with aged mother in wheelchair. Remarkably complete on the exterior and interior detail which restored examples so often lack. Looked like the original carpets even. Body excellent. Chassis probably needs some work on the chassis tubes given brake servo vacuum canister in footwell but overall seemed very solid. Mechanically it probably needs most things overhauled. Last taxed in 1983 so its slumbered for 38 years. Thought the original 15-19k estimate (inclusive) was nonsense. I thought 28 to 32 (inc) given its rarity and unmolested state, and it went for the top. Very tempting but getting very high unless one can do quite bit oneself, but where are you going to find another like that?

Would be interesting to know who the JOC member was who had it in the 1970s and early 80s. JOC badge on car. Someone must remember the car. Ivory with Black roof until a colour change to Red in 1990 when the third owner bought it. Fourth owner bought it in 2015.
