Int 136 8749 project at Auction
An obscure West Country Auction has turned up another project. The number plate hunters will no doubt inflate the value by at least another £5k for the plate "97 HOT"...if they believe they can persuade DVLA to re-issue it as transferable.

Previously sold at H&H auctions back in July 2019 for £7875. They have even used one of the same pictures which confirms nothing has been done in the last 2 years.
They haven't even bothered to take the previous auction lot number sticker "98" from the windscreen.
Same story about the number plate though. Good luck getting any response from DVLA at the moment!

The "restoration" has begun on Facebook. Crikey, I wish they hadn't bothered.....At least get an account with Robey's and get the right shaped panels.

Oh Dear!!..What group was this on on F.Book please Peter?..Mind You Peter, you mention "Robeys Panels", I found a NOS lower half rear wing at Pauls yesterday, he said it was 15years old, probably one of Toms, so could be 20years+old, the raised hockey stick shape by the end of the rear bumper was more or less Non-Existent, so if they were Non existent that long ago, I wonder what they are like now!!, unless they've repaired those worn out presses now then God Knows!..Happy new year to you sport and kindness always..Grant

I am surprised that no one has come to the defence of this charming time warp. I can see some members licking their lips, twitching fingers, eyes crossing having a wet dream over this. Off to the wreckers!! Grant, you are a lovely fellow and Jesus still loves you. Please get yourself out of that shed now and again and look at the flowers. Kenny38

It looks like this car was potentially a good buy. Fairly solid under the paint. Shame they haven't taken the stainless trim off the boot and gutters before sanding started, but then they are not taking the glass out either. Still it looks like they bought a good solid car with nice wheel arches. There was a gold Mk1 Interceptor up for auction recently. Even after fillering it looked like some idiots had used washing machine sections to repair the wheel arches. It was a nice fresh barn find when it was on ebay a year or so before. I am not sure which Paul you mean Grant. While there is only one Tom, there are a few Peter, Pauls and Johns!Grant wrote: ↑Tue Jan 04, 2022 11:10 pm Oh Dear!!..What group was this on on F.Book please Peter?..Mind You Peter, you mention "Robeys Panels", I found a NOS lower half rear wing at Pauls yesterday, he said it was 15years old, probably one of Toms, so could be 20years+old, the raised hockey stick shape by the end of the rear bumper was more or less Non-Existent, so if they were Non existent that long ago, I wonder what they are like now!!, unless they've repaired those worn out presses now then God Knows!..Happy new year to you sport and kindness always..Grant
Robey aren't using the old Jensen tooling for everything. I have heard that an FF bonnet at one time came from them with the skin as multiple sections welded together. Robey E-Type panels were fantastic, sharp, easy to fit for a novice, no Jaguar tooling involved. We don't get comments like that about Jensen panels today do we?

Paul used to work with Tom building the Saloons into Convertibles in the late 80's and 90's John, & just generally cutting and welding Jensens with Tom up there in Box Hill, maybe you never met him but I thought you had, he comes down here to our place most weeks and messes around in the barn on the cars here with me, you may recognize him here >>

According to the FB narrative:
"Currently having all fabrication works and bare metal stripping .
All chrome off for refurbishment .
Interior out for refurbishment ..
Engine is to be fully rebuilt ..
Going to be a very special interceptor
And for sale !!"
I can't wait to see how they get on with the chrome refurbishment.

"Kipper tie?"
"Don't mind if I do. Two sugars please"

"Now that chassis number is particularly interesting ‘cos it’s the one after the one before, which is the one after mine, not many people know that"
