Its original registration number is also noted as UVR 541.
That's a relief, that it has been changed. Fairly recently it was carrying that number, which was identical to the registration of Phil Spencer's 541.

Even within the description it varies from 541S to 541R. It also claims that there was the option of a 5 litre V8. Plus, it claims it had " lightweight construction", whereas it was heavier than an XK120 and about the same weight as an Aston DB3. Of course, the 541 was designed to be lighter than its predecessors, the 4-litre Interceptor and the PW, but it was no featherweight.

From notes I made when on sale in 2016:
The vehicle has been part of our family since 1982. Originally the vehicle was shipped from UK to Rhodesia by the original owner and then later to South Africa. We have various old receipts relating to service history and importation into South Africa. Original parts have been retained as much as possible.

Front of the bonnet looks a bit strange to me, although it could just be photo angle ? Can't say I like the interior trim/dashboard. Otherwise looks reasonable original.

It lacks the front flap circle and chrome strips, and the front indicators are the wrong shape.

The sidelights sit in a chrome recess - this is unusual, but not unique. Does anyone know anything about the originality of this feature, and whether it was an optional extra?

As per the silver one which is for sale it looks okay but the engine bay needs a ton of work and is missing a few parts, Crome trim ect, petrol cap is wrong to me and only one exhaust pipe? . Like the other 541 for sale it will make a nice original car once the few issues have been sorted out..
Hope it sells to someone who will drive it and improve it..let’s see what both sell for,
Cheers

I think someone got a very good deal there despite the (valid) criticism!
