Jensen 541R for sale at DVCA thus Thursday 20/05/2021

Hi all,
This Jensen 541R (Reg UEA 855), with a BMW 520 straight six engine, is for sale this Thursday (20th May 2021) at Dorset Vintage and Classic Auctions with a guide price of £30,000-35,000. Does anyone in the Club know anything about this car?

Just in case anyone sees my name on the YouTube video and thinks I owned the car:
Barry produced this excellent video, but after many years he sold the car, and the video disappeared from YouTube. I contacted him and he said he had a copy of it somewhere on a DVD. When he found it he sent it to me and with his permission I republished it, as I think it is an excellent source of information on the 541.

If you have access to old JOC magazines, the restoration of this car was well covered at the time in two or three issues. I remember it well.
And a beautiful photo of the finished car on the back cover.
It's worth trying to find those issues as the full story was very interesting. I think this was in the mid to late 1980s.

I've been through all the 1980's and 1990's JOC Magazines but can't seem to find the restoration article. But thanks for the heads up anyway.

Maybe it was rather later.
Perhaps around 2000 if the restoration was 20 years ago as the advertisement suggests.
My bad memory!
Just look at the back page outside cover for a picture of the finished car. Green with black roof. Landscape orientation.
It's really a splendid photo.

In its early days this car was used by the factory, and my father borrowed it to take to West Bay, Dorset during our summer holidays.
A further detail: Barry Stone had a window put in between his kitchen and garage so that he could see the Jensen. He also did some work for me on my 541R in the mid 2000s, whilst I was out of the country.

If the car is in a good condition.....not a bad price estimate.?? Put it back to original with a DS5 motor and a Moss 'box, would make a nice 541. BUT, the all important area is the chassis....as we all know on the 541 Forum !

I do think this price slightly below the lower estimate reflects the fact that buyers today will want the original motor in there.
