A very level looking survivor car, looks like it has had paint looking at the over painted washer jets, but hey they rusted very quickly so that would be no surprise, has anyone found it in the chassis book i drew a blank ???

The car is based in Jersey Channel Islands and as such never registered in the UK so not sure if that has anything to do with it?

The chassis data plate looks like it says 136/9798 however this car is actually 136/8798. The chassis data book confirms the engine number and the original registration number that tie up with the photo of the registration document. The car is recorded as Silver Grey with a Black roof and Black interior. It came from the factory with a Voxson radio / cassette player and a vinyl roof. It left the factory on 7th August 1973 and is recorded as a Channel Islands car.

Adrian, I believe VX is a generic term for 8 track player by that stage of production. Which it still has by the looks of it.

Interior looks stunning - and look at the glove box/dash line. Arrow straight. A proper unmolested Jensen.

Conditions in that barn must be pretty close to perfect for storing cars. A wonderful example. The same colour as mine was when new also.
Did all the cars around that time have a leather trimmed gear selector, mine is only 3 months younger but has the horrible plastic looking one.
Good luck with the car.

I am fairly certain Jon that all the gear lever handles were covered in Leather.. the ones around now that haven't got any leather on I believe it is because the leather has been removed..But of course that is a guessImage.. I can't imagine that Jensen left that plastic on show in any of the carsImage

40 years in a garage. Wow! almost looks as if it's just been retrimmed and dust on it.
Has anyone ever seen a vehicle before in this almost pristine condition after 40 years? A permanent resident of a museum would not look as good.
Tyres recently pumped up? Garage must be "A Secret Garden". Perhaps we could all go and live there and reverse ageing.....but of course that is impossible.Kenny38  :D

I was as surprised as you! I expected to open the door and see Mould all over the leather but it was as clean as a whistle, I haven't even wiped it for the photos!
