I spotted this interceptor about to go up for sale on the auction website https://themarket.co.uk/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; reg RPL 101M. May be of interest to someone?
Just to clarify I have no connection to the car whatsoever.
Looks like it needs a bit of work?

Spotted this too via the usual car apps. Thought it might have gone for more but guessing it would take another £30k or so to get it tip top? - Labours of love.

Hi Jon.. Such a brilliant pic that in your avatar of your Dad standing by his SP.. If I remember correctly whilst looking at the pic before he also was smoking a Faggy wasn't he.. Obviously a bit of Chap Back then owning an SP in those days.. I know you're not having much luck tracing it :(
With regards to this blue Interceptor.. 30K doesn't even seem to take care of too much these days when you include Labour, parts & Mets.. the blue car looks quite like a money pit to meImage.. more to the point though I hope you have some luck finding the current owner of "Dad's" SPImage.. When I saw the title of this thread, this came to mind....

(... the “Spotted Interceptor” was not what I originally imagined it to be)

Hi Grant,

Thanks for your reply.

On the blue one, I had got a little carried away thinking that whilst £16k plus around £30k is a small house, it might just be do-able one day but then no doubt that is what the previous owner thought and she stayed idle in a garage with nothing done other than enough to get her running to sell again.

Re my dad's car, I never realised how quite how cool he must have seemed to his friends at the time (although one of them had a chocolate brown E-Type so maybe they used to argue about that particular topic). I was about 6 when the photo was taken and to me I just loved the shape of the car, the sound, the smell and all those buttons!! Got into serious trouble one day for putting the electric aerial up on a journey into Cardiff only to have it bent by a branch what with it being on the kerb side of the car 'n all. - Why did they not change that for the RHD models!!

If anyone reading this has any info at all on JWO 32L (other than the basic spec that Jim Smith and Tim SP were kind enough to help with), I would be massively grateful.

Jon

Hello All,

I know one chap who went after RPL101M. In a 'phone conversation he told me he drove from Cumbria to Oxford to find the car had been bought, don't know what for. On the way back home he received a 'phone call to say the deal had fallen through and he purchased the car. I have spoken to him since and is now waiting for the car to be delivered to him. The perfect end to this story is that he will be joining the JOC!!!

regards
DavidM

The Market has Liam Dicks as the successful bidder at £16,400 but sounds like that may not have completed.
