A well known RED Interceptor for sale

Post by shaun »

On eBay.

A project job but a car well known within the club

Nothing to do with me just passing it on for a friend

Shaun

I sent an email asking about condition and for photos but no response. I see the description says the car needs beams. Presume this means it will need floors, inner arches etc. You mentioned the car is known in the club if anyone has seen the condition any information would be gratefully received.

I would take beams to mean inner sills.

I realise it will need inner sills but presume if they have gone so have the floors and inner arches.

I cannot comment on this car as I have not seen it, but I have a car which has just completed welding and the inner sills were near non existent but the floors were very good only requiring a new front section on one side.

With rust always prepare for the worst and hope for the best and dont forget the metalwork is around 50 years old so may need a bit of love.

I'm sad to see it being sold as I've spent many a happy hour in the company of it and the owner.
It was a decent car and could easily be again, as long as someone is happy to get the sills etc. sorted.
I guess time moves on and other things come into our lives :(

Agreed Martin, this was a real looker 15 years ago when we were more club proactive. Very nice attentive and capable owner who has several other Jensens within his collection. Hopefully she will go to a sensible buyer who doesn't tear her apart unnecessarily like so many do, carry out repairs as required and then enjoy a rolling restoration. Sorry to see her change hands and hope her long term owner gets a fair price for a good well know car.
