It looks lovely.
Every time you go on a trip in it you arrive before you expected because it's an 'early' Interceptor.

Considering they only made 88 of these Interceptors it's amazing how many are still around.

I believe that was the Benjamin Britten one. At one time I lived not far from him, but never saw the car on the road at any time, so possibly low millage, although he may well have done a lot of trips to London, being a famous conductor/opera writer etc.
Wonder how good the chassis is ? Hopefully restored, or there is a ton of work waiting for a future buyer. Looks nice though.

No, it it No 18, discussed back in June with a link to an ad from Day's Autos, the Benjamin Britten car is No 84 (and painted black).

I don't know if that is where it is now as when i search Ebay the car doesn't appear.

Hi John, I had forgotten that there were at least three early Interceptors for sale at the same time in the UK, thanks for pointing that out : My mistake.
Can't figure out why they are not snapped up, as they are nice touring cars, or have they now been sold .? If anyone is ever thinking of buying one of these, remember that the early ones in the production did not have overdrive and Riekie once told me that in those cars it would be a real problem to add one, due to chassis cross-member/s being in the way, I believe he said. However they do have an extra high ratio rear axle, so that helps the lack of the o/d.

Why are so many available? I suspect the prices have been so depressed for many years (decades), but now, at last, they are being appreciated so people are digging them out and carrying out work.
