Jensen Healey 2
Jensen Healey 2
After much consideration i have decided to sell my Healey and go back to Interceptor ownership.
LFM 136N is a 1974 JH2 with the Getrag 5 speed gearbox
The car was rebuilt by Adrian Howells and incorporated a GT donor so now sports a GT dash and full leather interior, electric windows and electronic ignition. A matching blue hood was sourced and the hardtop recovered in the same material.
The car was later sold to Keith Lee who regularly showed it at the International and was the 2018 show and shine winner.
In my ownership i have had the paintwork refreshed, cambelt, tensioner, hoses and full service (less than 500 miles ago by Appleyards). Overall the car is in excellent condition and ready to be enjoyed.
The car is located in Henley on Thames

Nick. I like that Healey...I am not a buyer, but hope you find someone who appreciates it. I assume the Getrag was fitted later,as you refer to the car as a Mk II. We always refered to the 5 speed as Mk 111,as it was a major upgrade inc the rubber bumpers. Love the interior refit, which looks great quality, and is complimented by the GT dash. Paint job looks good, and the idea of a colour coded H/top is a good idea. It is a pity that It seems no longer possible, after a repaint, that the waistline (self-adhesive) strip i s no longer available. It was a cheap/simple addition by the factory, but I believe made a massive difference to the general line/style of the body. (not all agree, but my personal opinion anyway !) Good luck with the sale. I think the buyer will end up with a great car.
Re: Jensen Healey 2
This is the best match for the coachline trim I have found (and fitted to my GT)...

Re: Jensen Healey 2
Well done Nigel. That product looks great, and I hope many JH owners will think about fitting it.....It just takes the eye off what is,a fairly bland side aspect. They used a jig at the factory to get the line accurate, but maybe with a string s tretched from rear, through door handle to front end ,forming a horizontal straight line ,that would work.
Re: Jensen Healey 2
I don’t think it’s a straight line. When I fitted the trims to my GT I added straight lines on my PC to side-on images of a J-H (from the 1974 factory brochure) and of a GT for sale with only 8,000 miles on the clock (this also showed me the width and displacement of the thinner vinyl strip below the trim which only GTs had). Comparison of these straight lines with the actual trim on both images showed a definite curve of the trim on the rear wings following the “coke bottle” line to some extent, and also that the trim droops down slightly before the front wing indicator repeater, again mirroring the line of the front wing. I used a spare piece of trim and taped it to the car at the eyed-in top of each curve and let gravity generate the shape of the rest of the curve for me. I didn’t get it perfectly right on one wing but it’s pretty close...

Sorry Nigel.....just talking to a friend here....appologies.
Re: Jensen Healey 2
Sorry Michael, I’m with you now. It looks to me like the trims on Belgian101’s GT have been applied in a straight line. This is what my GT looks like, with curves on the trims. It’s quite a subtle difference...

Below pictures of the side strip on my J-H which should/could be the original one. As Nigel indicated it does not follow a straight line but has a very weak curve.
