Has anyone noticed how many early 4 litre Interceptors there are for sale at the moment ?
Four or five in UK and one in Holland I believe.

So far as I can see, the one at £66,000 and the one at £79,000 are the same car. The one in Holland c£38,000 has been for sale for at least a year. One at £75,000 has been there a couple of months.
All of which suggests to me that the asking prices are too high.

Mike is unfortunately right.
The Early Interceptor is not a very popular and with the standard 4 liter a bit lazy to drive.
But it gets a lot of attention if you arrive in one.....

Joerg sums it up well and the Interceptor has been unpopular for as long as I can remember, and I've had Jensens for 43 years.
But I think things are changing with big money being spent on restoring cars and those for sale are mainly in better condition than you saw them years ago.
But, there is a limit and you can get some very desirable cars for less than £75,000. I guess we can't win - price low and we moan that people don't appreciate Jensens. Price high and we say they are over priced!

The 4 litre Interceptor may have been a bit forgotten in the past, but I have always had a liking for them, due to having driven a convertible version many years ago.
They handle very nicely, steer easily and have quite a good turn of speed if the need arises. An ideal touring car. The one I had the pleasure of driving was often to be seen in the Norfolk area towing a vintage caravan. Definitely a car which should have the wickerwork picnic basket, with accessories ,in the boot permanently.
Only drawbacks with these cars is the problem with access to engine and radiator, which for removal I am informed that the front wings etc. have to be removed first.
The other problem is the composite structure chassis, which by now must be getting thin on a lot of these cars and has sounded the death knell for several of them.
Some were not fitted with the Laycock overdrive and according to Colin Riekie, were not adaptable without a lot of alteration to the chassis frame.

Two, that I know of, oddly they are numbers 21 and 22.

That's No 22
No 18 is recorded as being in Australia till around 1990, but I think it is in the UK now. I don't know of any others in Australia but I am not the early cars Registrar and I don't have a register, or years of research by other people, to look at so I would be interested in any further info you have, when you get a chance to find it.
