‘Wheeler Dealers’ White Mk3 Interceptor on E-Bay

Post by Pymmie »

The car bought from Mike & Ed is now on EBay.

The owner works away and hardly used it.

Needs attention to rear arches / valance

Initially I was surprised to see the condition of those rear arches and panels until I realised that the program was broadcast in 2010, so presumably the actual work done was possibly 2009. It's a few years now and the rear wasn't touched if I remember correctly.
The buyer should be allowing for new rear quarters, plus I suspect some inner arch metal at least.

...from looking at this wonderful car sat on my drive I can confirm, it's going to need some attention!

I am the very happy new owner, out and about in it yesterday and, what can I say, first time actually driving a Jensen, rather than being driven in someone else's or looking at my other one in bare metal wondering... Having joined the club with my head, my heart just jumped in!

Dave, who bought it from the show, was a thoroughly nice chap and couldn't have been more helpful, especially as is he overseas.

I've gone in expecting a complete body redo, not everything will need it but I'd rather know it was done well from the ground up. Mechanically it seems so far to be really rather good, a few niggles but nothing major, all readings good.

I'm south Hampshire, any advice on good metal workers gratefully received!

I'll post a pic of it yesterday in the sunshine.

Congratulations on your new purchase and a fabulous Classic Car collection.
Have you considered joining the Jensen Owners Club?
You’re in the Southern Area and we meet regularly in Hampshire across the summer months.
We aim to combine Area Meetings with Drive Outs and Technical visits.
You would be most welcome.

Off topic, but I’d love to see the Merak one day, lovely car.

Thanks Edward, having spent a while lurking around the forum I finally joined at the end of last week - just waiting for my details to come through...

As for the Merak, you'd be welcome to come and look at the bubble wrapped interior, or the sad bare metal shell - or any of the numerous boxes containing the rest of it :-)
It's mid restoration so not exactly looking it's best at the moment! It's a rare RHD Bora dash SS so very much worth the effort, red over black with gold wheels. I'm probably a year or more away from it looking or driving anything like a car again!

Please put my email on the local list for events etc, I'll pm my details.

Hi James,

Thanks for the PM, you’re now on the JOC Southern Area distribution list. Welcome to the JOC.
I’ll pass on viewing the Maserati bubble wrap but thanks for the offer! Love to see it on completion though.
A few dates for your Diary, if you’re interested:
May 6th Popham Classic Car Show, JOC Southern Area attending with the Thames Valley Area
May 14th Southern Area Meeting at Pub with No Name aka The White Horse near Petersfield
June 11th Southern Area Meeting with South Downs Area at same venue.
I’ll send reminders and more details anyway, but thought I’d give you a heads up.
Look forward to meeting you soon.
