PW for sale

Post by mikebyrne »

I was hoping to complete the PW this year. There is probably less than one weeks work to do to get the car on the road. However due to the rapid onset of arthritis , mainly in my hands, this is not going to happen anytime soon. Therefore I have to sell the car as it is.
Will accept highest offer in region of the previous advertised price.(£150,000)
Would consider part exchange with battery powered bath chair, or CV8mk.3

Really sorry to hear this Mike. It is a rare car and restored sensitively by you so that it is just as it left he factory. A car for a real discerning enthusiast who (please) doesn't want to modernise it. I hope it finds a good home.

The PW is now sold and is now in Germany at a very good home.
I decided to sell mainly due to arthritis, but it turned out this was polymiolitis rheumatica and I was on steroids for several months and am now ok thank goodness.
It has gone to a good home.
Now looking for a very original 541/541R (not DS7) or 541S manual, or possibly Mk.3 CV8.
Chassis would need to be perfect ,as I am not so young as I used to be and don't take to crawling around under the cars like I used to. Mechanical work no problem if needed.

Maybe a two or four post lift would be a way to avoid crawling under a car :-)
To be honest - not many people of your age are able to crawl unter a car the way you still can.
Deep respect - I was sure that you at least 10 years younger.

Is that the same as Polymyalgia Rheumatica? I had that, but they could not give me steroids in case it affected my dodgy heart. I read up on it, and saw that it naturally went after maybe 2 years. Sure enough, after 18 months it has passed and I can now lift my arms above shoulder level - and put on a jacket!

Really pleased for your good health news. And that you have successfully handed your PW onto a new custodian of your choice.
