Re: FF Mk2 127/228
That's my old car - my second Jensen and my first FF, which I sold around 2005.
It's a shame what time and a lack of love can do, but this car has been in the doldrums before - follow the link to see it unloved in some lock-up from ages ago.
https://www.joc.org.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=6681" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Hopefully it'll find someone to restore it once again to glory!

Re: FF Mk2 127/228
Estimate is 20-30K so possibly a bargain.
Re: FF Mk2 127/228
Went for £64,500 plus fees so I make that £76,110 which is probably about right for a car thats needs a bit of work to recommission.
Probably would have fetched more if it went through a well advertised car auction.

Re: FF Mk2 127/228
Jens it appears that there are quite a few people looking for an FF project which seem to be rarer than good drivable cars.

..but any project converted in a driver will be more expensive than a good driver - even if you pay 100K+ for it.
I own some of the odd Jensen

Re: FF Mk2 127/228
I really do not think there is much of a market for nice to mint cars at the prices being asked, cheap project interceptors yes , and astonishing two people at least must have wanted this ff which has done very well, its great to see but also very weird,, it does on the surface look like maybe you could do a quick minting even just get the bonnet sprayed check over and use this ff unless it was parked for a sinister reason, the great shame is its lost its history and will be fore ever known now as the snatch back car,, a good caption for another chapter in Uls book,

From the prior string on it don’t we know frtzff bought it in 2009 and when driving it back 30 miles from home he had a lot of white smoke from the right bank and had it towed back. From the other details I presumed the car was not used after then despite fritzff’s good intentions.
Also a starter for 10 on where the file will be and maybe Fritz will not be too sore - a car that he paid about 20k for in 2009 chips in 60k odd to help him out.

Correct Joerg but it seems there are plenty of people looking to buy an FF to restore. Who knows how long till the next project turns up.Joerg wrote:..but any project converted in a driver will be more expensive than a good driver - even if you pay 100K+ for it.

I went to have a look at this for old time's sake before the auction. The car was still nice and straight and the bonnet wasn't as bad as the photos make out, but the nearside outer sill was rotten by the front wheel and the interior was damp.
